I work at a hotel as a room attendant and business is slow because I not getting many hours of work. It's tough because I have rent and bills to pay so I will be starting a second job next week. I have some training sessions then I'll be a cashier and hopefully make some much needed extra money. I guess after Christmas business especially stores and services are slowed down but it hurts us workers in the pocket book. I'm just very frustrated about it all. Wondering if other people are suffering after the holidays too.

I think the poor economy is affecting a lot of people. After the holidays is always slow, but it seems to be slower than ever. In some places, it's really hard to find a second job, so be glad you were able to do that.

Thanks. I'm sure a little extra income right now should help.

It is hard when jobs are seasonal. I hope you get some training to become a cashier. And hope things will improve for you. When things get frustrated, sometimes it just motivated me to find something better. That's how I found Mylot. :) Even if I made only a little money on Mylot and it's only a part time income, it's better than nothing. I figure if I keep a positive outlook and always on the outlook for something better, things will indeed improve. Wishing you all the best.

My husband & I were just talking about this very thing tonight after he got home from work. I asked him how his day went & he just frowned & said, "Not good. It's been very slow lately." He says this happens every year but this year it's worse because everyone is trying to save their money & not spend it. They are all afraid of higher taxes & what it means for their paychecks, my husband included. So like everyone else we are spending less, eating more at home, & just trying to hold on to what we have for as long as we can.

I hear you. I think it's tough for everyone after the holidays and it will take a little time to get better and when people can spend money again, hopefully next month. Hang in there and work and money will improve, my lot friend.

wow you're great. I'm glad that I'm not experiencing that kind of scenario because I'm a college student. But hopefully I try to be a working student. So it helps me from my expenses. Goodluck for your second job.

Thanks. I'm trying something new being a cashier but hopefully I'll like it and maybe I'll do it full time and give up the hotel job.
