Do any of you Gone With the Wind fans think that the book Scarlett measured...

...up to the original book in any way? I was disappointed when I first read it, mainly, I think, because this all-american story was moved to Ireland. American History fans like me were bound to be disappointed.

I haven't read the book. I just don't think anything could compare with "Gone with the Wind". It's one of my all time favorites. Being from the US and a Southerner myself, I just don't think it would be the same to me, even though I from Irish decent.

It's been a while since I read The book "Scarlotte".I didn't think it measured up at all as a follow up for "Gone With The Wind" The story was not half bad. In my opinion another could never make sequal fit. Have you noticed that in movies the second sequal never is as good as the first and third?

gone with the wind - gone with the wind
It wasn't as good as the original but the i can see why they moved it to ireland as that where they were from. plus a different writer.

I don't think it measured up at all.
