Hi mylot friends, I have experienced several times the inconvenience of not availability of reservation in either buses or in trains. Now a days the IT people are having weekend holidays so the people travel to their native places from the metros is common and after two days vacation they are returning from their native places to the metro for their duties. On these days it is very hard to get the reservation on both sides, I to have experienced a journey to Guntur from Secunderabad on 9th, due to non availability I have to travel 300 kms distance without seat all along the way on standing. So once again I become victim in the buses/trains on festival season for non availability of seats. The state road transport corporation is making cash in this festival season by increasing fifty percent fare for special buses operating extra to the regular services.

You are absolutely right.Buses and trains are overloaded during festivals.Last year I had been to Hyderabad just before the Durga Puja.My son was there studying dot net.He had to return home with me,but there were no seats available in train. The clerk told me that seats will not be available before a month or even more.Although we did not have much luggage with us,we were not prepared to travel in a heavily crowded train. Finally we decided to go home by plane.

Hi Else, Thanks for the response, mostly every Sankranthi, Dussera holidays these type of crowd is appearing in buses and trains. Besides that crowd are there for weekends also now a days, people wish to enjoy the holidays in their home towns and even they does not fear to pay more money for luxury and a/c transport also. But common people how can they travel by air just like you, have a nice day.

Hi Else, Thanks for the response, when it is must then it is ok if not you have to spend money for staying at Hyderabad for a month. Mostly some times, that may happen like that we have to spend money like that unnecessarily. when need is there I will reach the destination by part by part or brake journey by two buses to the destination, have a nice day.

We too can't afford travelling by air.But we were left with no choice.Had we decided to stay in Hyderabad for one month,it would have cost us a lot more.We had no option. It was my first air travel.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well yes u are absolutely right, especially whenever there is any festival or occasion it is too difficult to find seats in trains or buses. People try to book their tickets in advance so that they do not face any glitch while traveling. i think sometimes this condition goes uncontrolled and hence this situation has to be controlled and handled in such a way that people do not face issues due to this. What say?

Hi Subhojit, Thanks for the immediate response, from several years this is ha penning. The railways are operating special trains in between the major places from the city and special buses are also operating in festival seasons. But the rush is growing by year year so every season this is happening again and again no body can solve it, only the thing is not travel on those festival days to any place. Have a nice day.

Yes, I have noticed around our busier holiday times there are a lot more people riding the buses and trains as well, or when there are Big festivals going on as well. I think often times since a lot of the places charge a lot for parking, and it is hard to find somewhere to park, a lot of people have done this, and overall since it is a lot cheaper it is a great way to go. And many times I would Love to be one of the recipients of all the money they make from these events for sure.
