I have been thinking of furthering my education and I came up with Psychology (Counseling). I have always been a good listening and from what my friends have said, I give great advice. I wonder how successful I will be if I persue this career.

From you say you should be very good at it. People these days need more people ot talk to, people live so far away from family etc they don't have close people ot talk to, also some people wish to talk to someone they don't know.

I have thought of this same thing myself, but counseling isn't really about giving advice, it's about leading the person to find their own solutions to their problems. Most people know deep down what they need to do, but it takes some careful questioning, on the part of the psychologist, to get them to see their own truths. The drawback that I've always thought of for this line of work is the patient who really just wants to whine about their problems to someone and isn't all that interested in fixing things.

I suppose you'll never know unless you try. I thought I would be a good fit for this profession, too, for the same reasons. A lot of people here on MyLot are probably good at giving advice, which is why we are here. But with so many people out of work these days, I'm thinking more along the lines of nursing. Although, the two may be able to be combined.

If you are talented, go for it. I go counseling (not marriage, but overall), and it helps me a lot, really.
