This morning, on the news was a story about a 5 year old little girl getting suspended for 10 Days (!) for saying to her friend "lets shoot each other with our bubble gun" !!! Sometimes, I think "what is becoming of our world?"... I mean REALLY! A Hello Kitty Bubble Gun that spits out bubbles! A 5 year old! Something so sweet, innocent and common - and it's turned into something horrible... I truly understand and fully support the issues that schools are facing today with safety and security... esp after the Angels in CT were taken... I understand all threats, or even perceived threats, must be dealt with quickly and severely... But this was a 5 YO wanting to play with bubbles.... Her suspension was later reduced to 2 days and the mom is now planning on sueing the school for an apology as well as to get the students record cleaned... Thoughs?

oh my! i think the girls really did not mean to hurt each other.. kids are sometimes cute rascals haha i mean they do anything and don't mean to hurt, even themselves! but that is how they learn when they insist on doing something they get hurt with it they won't do it anymore... =) Hmm i still think though that kids see violence everywhere, the media has a lot of contribution to this, and parents should have more responsibility in monitoring their kids. God bless and see you around and happy mylotting!

Ludicrous! This is way way beyond being careful. And 10 makes it 10 times worse! I don't think the 10 will stick. But can you imagine that poor child wondering what she did wrong? She probably got it for a Christmas present. I have a feeling that wasn't a school thing, this was one person making very very poor judgement.

Hey, LUDICROUS is the perfect word! It was reported that the 10 days was reduced to 2 days... but her record is still tarnished... thanks for the response.

My very first thought is things are becoming really ridiculous with schools now a days. Like you said, she was a young child and its bubbles for crying out loud! Nothing like taking things to the extreme! The more and more I see stories like this, the more grateful I am that I chose to Home School my children. =) I hope the mother sues the pants off those idiots!
