Why does food taste so much better at a restaurant

Why does restaurant food seem to taste so much better. It's not that I'm a bad cook, I'm actually a really good cook but things always taste so much better at restaurants. Maybe it's just cause I didn't slave over a hot stove for an hour so I'm more relax to enjoy it. Who knows.

They are renowned chefs. And work of a chef is just not to cook but to know what to put, and how much to put. I have experimented this by myself at home. If you try to read a good recipe and put exactly the same amount of spices and things in it, your dish will come out awesome, if you miss out something or something is extra even a pinch of it. It will spoil your dish. Also there are different temperature setting for different food items, you cannot cook meat and vegetable on same temperature. That will spoil the taste of vegetable. These small things are very important and these are taken care by the chefs in the restaurant and that is why their food tastes better than us.

It taste better because they have better equipment to work with and they use a lot of expensive ingredients as well. Much more, cooks are trained to cook good food at all time.

Don't worry, you are a good cook itself. And it always tastes better than any restaurant. The reason why we feel the restaurant food is good is that we are eating from there only on occasions. I mean to say that we eat from the restaurants at times only and not daily. Try going to the same restaurant daily. I am sure you will start hate those foods after some days. I am sure.

They use different spices and tasty salt. As such their food becomes tasty. But most of the foods belong to fast food and it may not be suitable for health. Have a very nice day.

its the spices they use,the ambiance and ofcourse you didnt have to slave making the meal.i think its just in our minds because even simple things that you can make in your home and yet we still feel the reastaurant meal is better.its just that we take is as a treat so our minds are more positive.

The chefs in the restaurant are specially trained,so they can make better dishes. If we always thinking about how to make our dishes more delicious,we can make even better than the chefs. But I think that there are the dishes we make at home tastes more delicious than cooked in the restaurant.

Since we cook day and day out, the relaxed feeling that accompanies food handed to you on a platter gives an enhanced sense of well being. You eat at the same restaurant continuously for a week and then you will change your mind.On the other hand you eat your own well cooked food for how long you want and you will feel the contrast.

There are some dishes that good restaurants make that do taste better than if I prepared them or that I am simply not inclined to prepare. However, I am a good cook, and that only applies to the good restaurants--none of that chain rubbish of which some people are so fond (Really, 1-in-4 Americans eats fast food every day .).

Food tastes a lot better at the restaurant coz they make us of different spices. And also, their use of the different techniques makes the food appetizing as well as the presentation of the dish.

I'm not a picky eater, especially because I realize that I'm a lousy cook. So almost anything that other people cook taste better to me. I've heard from friends who are good cook that they cannot 'taste' their own cooking although it tastes absolutely delicious to me.

I think it's because most of the times, the best of the best work there in the cook section, and because... well... it can taste better because you didn't have to fuss with it that much. It's just put in front of you, without you cooking it for hours to get it perfect.

It has to be a restaurant that serves GOOD food for me to think that restaurant food is better. My cooking isn't that great but I am very picky about restaurant food. I don't think that all restaurants serve great food. I do enjoy other people cooking home made meals. One time, my daughter and her boyfriend came over. He loves to cook and so, he cooked us a very wonderful meal. It was so delicious. He even tidied the kitchen after he cooked. That make his cooking taste even better. :) So, I enjoy other people's home cooked meals. Especially, if I don't have to do the clean up and dishes, after the meal. I also enjoy pot lucks - everyone seems to bring their best dish and the food is always so tasty and interesting at pot lucks.

hi poppoppop`111`because someone else fixed it and if its a great restaurant the cook will be talented and use spices and herbs that most of us do not know how to use. I love going out to eat at a favorite restaurant but it has to be a good restaurant.I used to love to eat at Spires as they had some great cooks there and the waitresses all knew me as the library lady. loll they treated me like a queen all the time.

I think that we feel pampered when we eat out in a restaurant. Maybe it is just the fact that we do not have to cook and serve the food ourslves that seems to make it taste better to us.
