bullies in the school yard

my cousin studies in a catholic school and i have to fetch him since his aunt who does this went to the province due to family emergency. while i was waiting for him at the gate, i saw a 6th grade student (he's quite small) crying while two other students are teasing him. i then learned the bullies have something that the crying kid owns and they won't return it. i then looked at the bullies with sharp eyes. i was thinking if they would give back the thing to the crying child, i will immediately intervene. anyways, i'm bigger than the two of them combined.
maybe they noticed that someone was watching them, they returned the thing to the boy and he immediately ran.
i really hate bullies since i have also been bullied when i was in school. i don't think it will happen to my cousin since he's big.

I am against bullying as well. i also have young kids going to school and I do always check on them if there are some kids who bully them. As much as possible I teach them not to fight back violently but they should also know how to protect themselves so they won't be an easy target.

i think it's a good thing that you teach your kids how to deal with bullying. i'm also against using violence to deal with bullying.

I just do not understand why there are kids or people who feel better when they bully others. I know that there are some reasons behind it but their victims or targets are really in deep trouble. While the bullies feel the great power of controlling people, they leave an indelible negative mark to their victims.

To be honest, I am relieved you helped out that time but since they seem to be elementary students, I think you should have came near and as an adult, should have told them off how bullying are not acts worth of appraisal.
I've been bullied too. That's why I understand how you feel, but right then and there you could have stopped two bullies from growing up as misfits. From time to time I visit kids I befriended and see how they are behaving. Through small guidance, we can help them even through short and sincere words.
Since you hold the same pain I felt, I believe that in small ways you can and you will not only defend the helpless but also correct the unguided. But I once again say, it was great that you helped that kid :)

well, i really didn't do anything. but if they would not return that kid's possession, i would've interfered. glad that it didn't got hat far.

These bullies should learn their lesson. I hope children won't be scared of these bullies no matter how big they are. If they will show them that they are scared of them, these bullies will become more confident. It's good that you were around when the bullying happened. I hope it won't happen again to this pitiful child. Thanks for sharing and happy mylotting.
