They are claiming everywhere around in their country because they need more land to accommodate more than 1 Billion Chinese people everywhere in the world. What are their basis of claiming such islands around the Philippine Sea.

I think it's more for a location for resources. oil is pretty much a safe bet.if my memory serves me correctly, it was on historical context when China was still an empire.

Hello Jeanneyvonne, I think this was ALL a set up. remember? it all started when the Philippine Vessels started arresting fishing vessels from China, that started it all. they weren't much of a threat to us until they realized we are too weak to stand on those islands. they planned it from the very beginning because they were able to finish their fleets. I think this communist GOvt wants to repeat the same mistake of former imperial japan just to make their country proud.

Now,knight, be careful. We don;t want to give the other side some initiative. I guess this tactic will still be used in the future. I wonder what's the take of international lawyers on this.

Chinese government, really arrogant in claiming all territories that is located in different countries. They think that the name south china sea, will belong to them. They don't analyze that is only south of china, that is why they called it south china sea.
