Would you pick Pujara for final one dayer against England?

India has already won the series against England as it leads 3-1 going into the final dead rubber in Dharamshala. Seeing how Rohit grabbed his chance in last one dayer coming in place of Rahane. I think Pujara now deserves a similar opportunity to prove his mettle in the inconsequential tie to cement his position in shorter formats of the game. I would drop out of form Gambhir and bring in Pujara to open with Rohit. What do you guys feel? Share your views. Thanks.

Hey banta78 , I think that is something good suggestion or change for India. India had won the series and India can put forward any changes but should make sure that India should do good. I don't find any change in the squad India is in trouble

Sticking to same old combination tends to make players complacent. Only by giving opportunities can we find if someone is worthy or not. It can increase the talent pool and create healthy competition which is good for team in the long run.

I too strongly agree with you my friend.Pujara should also get a chance in the final ODI. In my opinion also Gambhir can be replaced by Pujara. Gambhir is not in form and I think there is nothing wrong in dropping Gambhir from Dharmashala's ODI. Then hte other thing Dhoni is sticking to is left hand-right hand combination. If the player is not playing well, then what is the use of keeping that player? That position should be given to someone who need to prove himself.

Gambhir is woefully out of form and is very low in confidence. It would have been much better had Dhoni given opportunity to Pujara like he did with Rohit in previous game, as the guy is hungry to make a mark and is in prime form. Also, considering swinging conditions was suited as he has good defensive game and could have helped India post a decent score.

I guess i would do the same. Also, it would be worth testing the bench strength and you never now, as we may find a new regular player from the current reserves.

Yes i wonder why Pujara was not played. In fact this last match was the ideal one to try some new players. But that did not happen.
