After my daughter's fever subsided on the 2nd day in the hospital, I really expected we would be allowed to go home. They didn't find any problem in all the laboratory tests they did. However, when the doctor checked her and found that she had bloated abdomen, and was giving her discomfort, she advised us to stay and observe if she'd be relieved. They gave her medicines to help relieve it. We wanted to home that day, because I really believe my daughter's all fine, and I already miss my other daughter whom we left with my mother. She's just a baby and even if my mother is taking good care of her, she still needs mommy a lot. So, I did all I can to encourage my sick daughter to poop and let gas pass. We walked around the room and even let her do a little stretching. After a couple hours, she already felt the urge to go, and right after that, she felt a lot better. I told the doctor about it, but she didn't give any word, until the next day. I was really pissed, because I feel like we were just wasting money and time for something we can do for free and more comfortably, at home. My thought was, if my daughter's illness was really serious, they should have already seen it sooner. I think the doctors were not efficient. We even chose this doctor, because she's among the top doctors in town and she had years of experience. I guess we were wrong.

Some doctors are not that good, when my daughter has a cold, everytime I take her to see the doctor, the doctor will demand to make all kinds of examinations (check up)( like blood test, uroscopy )and so on for my daughter, though I think it clearly that it's not necessary, but the doctor still insists it, every time for curing a cold, it will cost us much money. It's really annoying. I will spend all the money for my daughter only if it's necessary, I don't pain money.

I would understand if they ask for the routine lab tests like Urinalysis and CBC, because that's pretty usual and standard. But, I would question other tests that doesn't sound related to the illness or symptoms. Doctors would usually explain why, but if they seem evasive, then perhaps, find another specialist.

It's different here in our place. My wife was hospitalized because of dengue fever and when the fever went away I was hoping the doctor would let her stay for one more day. It's because we have a health card provided by the company where I work and we won't pay a cent for my wife's hospitalization. She was still weak from dengue but the doctor decided to let her go because there's no immediate threat to her anymore. Plus the hospital is quite near from our place so it's easy for us to come and go.

I think they are being practical. But, usually hospitals wouldn't mind an extra day for patients who are on insurance, unless, probably the insurance company is not a good payor.

Personally, I think anymore you never know what to expect when it comes to doctors even when someone is not feeling well. Too many times they insist on having to find a solution for what is wrong with you, and often are wrong. Or not willing to do enough to listen to you and go with your thoughts and judgment more. But hope that your daughter is feeling a lot better now.

Yes, she's better now. We're still glad that we brought her to the hospital because she was near dehydration with all the vomiting. But the extra days of stay was really unnecessary for me.

I know that it might seem silly to you but gas in the stomach can mean a little to you but to a doctor that speaks really lot. That can mean a world of problems that you don't know about so I would be upset if I had to stay another day even if my youngest was still very young need me they will live and be just fine. Just remember there are more people in world that have kids way sicker then yours that they have to choice between how to be with and trying to see both because some kids have to stay at the hospital and never come home because of how sick they are and the other parents have other children too. You could have always gone home and gone back. I stayed the night with JD because I had to I had no choice if I could I would have wanted to come home for a few hours and gave my daughter a bath and put her to bed and then went back to the hospital but I was on isolation so that means no one in or out that wasn't a doctor. If I had to and it was the other way around I would have stayed with my daughter in the hospital and my son at home. There is two parents so there for us we can have on with one and one with other.

It's really hard to divide our body in to two different places. My husband is working, and we can't afford for him to take a leave, especially that he's the only one working. So, when he arrives at the hospital, he spends a couple hours with my daughter, and later he sleeps to rest, which I fully understand. I can see him so stressed from work and he can't even sleep well in the hospital, either. I was able to go home a couple times to see my baby, because my sister informed me that she was also sick and seems to be crying a lot. Poor little baby.

Very often doctors are careless enough to make us waste money. And we are to be agree with their decisions. Actually doctor is not a doctor. They mess up all the time and diagnose and treat disease wrongly. They keep patients hang and at long last prepares a big bill sheet without any concession. Some times they misbehave if we ask for any concession. They are not doctor but a perfect exploiter as well.

I don't think this doctor we got was someone like that. She is the mother of my trusted OB-Gyne. And, I think her service charge was quite fair, considering her years of experience in the industry. Her service charge is fixed, I think, so it doesn't really matter to her how long we stay in the hospital. But, I have a feeling, she's not the type of doctor who would rush her patients out of the hospital. Even, at her clinic, patients wait long hours to see her, because she has a lot of patients and she takes her time with each of them.

The problem is you said her abdomen was bloated there should be an x-ray conducted to check her abdomen, it might be the causes of her illness. The reputation of the doctor is not of issue, the issue is what he did at the moment. Even if the caused is not a regular vowel movement, still there must be reason why? what causes the delay.

She pressed different sections of her abdomen, to see if my kid feels pain other than the bloatedness. However, my daughter didn't confirm any. When the doctor tapped her tummy, there's a lot of gas. And, my guess is because she's not been actively moving around and she's stuck in the room, so a change of environment and a little walking should do the trick of letting gas out. But, they wouldn't affirm it, and wants to just observe how it'll go in the next couple hours after they give another round of medicines.
