library items on reserve

I put a book on hold last week and there was a hold prior to mine so I figure I won't see this book for 6-7 weeks... no big deal in this instance. I went to put a hold on a movie that came out on video finally for the kids, my jaw dropped as to how far we were in the que there's 107 people ahead of us and they have 9 copies. I wonder if we'll see that one by summer *LOL* Usually they don't take too long to get but in these two instances I think I may forget about them long before I see the notice that the items are ready for pick up. What's the longest time you've had to wait for items on reserve?

i was waiting for the movies 'the avengers' and 'the hunger games' from the library and we were around 100 on the waiting list but really didn't have to wait that long for them. we visit the library every week and order stuff online and last week we saw the avengers and this week we have the hunger games. i love my library because we can always get fairly current movies.

Ooo I forgot about the avengers! I hope it's suitable for my kids... sometimes they are just too violent for smaller kids. But I'd like something more boyish for the kids to watch as the girls seem to own what gets shown on there. I can find fairly current movies there too, I just never pay attention to whats came out as I don't follow what's new to closely.

Oh my! I think the library is not the best place to go to see that movie then. I'd suggest looing for other options or you may never see it.

Well for the price it is. The kids haven't asked about it and don't even know that I've reserved it. On the other hand there's a dollar theater that shows the movies that are a few months old but that'd run me about $25 to take everyone. I'm in no hurry just floored by the amount of requests!

That would make sense for you. You could save alot of time and money (gas) doing it that way then having to go to the library.

There are usually long lists on movies and stuff. But I don't trust library movies anymore. I just borrowed one that I'd been wanting to see. We all sit down and start watching it, and the darn thing starts freezing and skipping. Hubby is out right now to buy it cuz we got so into it and want to finish seeing it.

Yeah that's one of the worst things is when you get a movie and it's a bum copy and or has scratches all over it. I know what the library charges to replace them so I'm sure no one reported the damage... as I had to pay $27 for a video that was at wal-mart in their $7 bin once! I was so mad! Even madder is that I think the video was never in the case to begin with because we've never ever found that darn disk! I hope you got to finish watching your video.

Nope, but we found it on TV so we're taping it to watch this weekend. I forget whether or not you have cable.. well with Direct TV we can search for movies and either rent them from Direct TV or if they're going to be on a regular channel we can set it up to tape it that way for free. We've been taping a lot of movies.
