I guess he knows what he is getting into

I got a call from my iron doctor, and he said it was up to me whether I do my iron infusion Thursday, seeing as I am getting the endoscope, and partial colonoscopy Wednesday morning. My GI told this other specialist seeing as you can have a sore throat for many days after, abdomen pain, and ache whereas if you are like this, they refuse the infusion. But seeing as it's written on the sheet they can. He said my doctor will give me muscle relaxers, sedate me, and give me something that numbs my throat for the gage reflex. He also said he may knock me out for the colonoscopy. I guess he is covering it for me, seeing as he tried doing doing the colonoscopy while I was still awake (before they knocked me out), and I started flipping out, and they had to give me double the medication, to knock me out fast to relax me. So I suppose he knows what will take place .

Given how things went the last time, I guess he learned his lesson and knows the importance of making sure that you are well sedated for the procedure. Hopefully, everything goes well with the procedure.

Though I took up a medicine course in college, medical terms still sound confusing! I think they are making so many tests on you. I wonder why? What are you feeling now? I hope every test will turn out well and I wish you well on your health. Having so many test is tiring and stressful. I hope he knows what he is doing.

Hi ricki sounds like they are trying to make it as painless as possible. I hope they find out what is making you so ill and can do something to make you well again. Do let us know how you come out with all this. I hope the procedure is really painless and the outcome is great.

Wow! I can't believe they would consider doing it with you awake. They always knock you out here. If its a sigmoidoscopy they don't but they do with a colonoscopy. I have mine every 5 years because I am at risk.
