Blather to Stranger

In public location such as bar, cafe, or bus stop, I often be acquainted to a stranger. I always started to break the ice while I was alone in those location. Sometimes to a girl, but sometimes to a man. There are times that the stranger didn't want to make conversation to me, but sometimes there was a person that fun to have blather with. How do you think about starting an acquaintanceship and having blather with a stranger? Is it an odd thing for you if a stranger starting a conversation with you?

I try not to talk to strangers here... I used to in the usa, but not here in mexico.

I guess for me it depends on the stranger. Sme stranger creeps me out that I don't really have the courage to keep a conversation flowing.
I often think how it feels for those outgoing people to just go ahead and strike a conversation with a complete stranger. I wasn't like that, I would just be in my corner waiting until I finished my business or somebody decides to talk to me.

I am good at 'breaking the ice' or start a conversation with a stranger.
However, if the person response, then we can have more interesting topic.
If not...no harm trying. There is one occasion at Statue of Liberty, we are
in a long queue and we start talking to the person in front of us and behind
us too. We exchange name cards and now we are friends via email. That is good!

I am very watchful when I am in public locations. I do not talk to all the people who would want to start a conversation with me. Well, if I do feel safe with the person, most likely women, then I would start a conversation. But if there were men who try to talk to me, I go away.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well i am glad to know about your habit of initiating talks with the strangers but i hope it does not turn out to be disadvantageous for u because there are some people who take undue advantage of others. So whenever u talk to any stranger be normal and do not get too personal about them.
