Good afternoon friends. Goodbye is always not that easy. Seventeen years for service is quite an achievement already. It shows how dedicated and productive employee you are for staying that long in the company. It shows that you are an asset in the company for keeping you in a long period of time. But there are always changes and choices that we have to make in life wherein we have to choose which is more important to us. With the new management that we will have by May since our company was already sold majority of the shares by its owner, there are some questions in my mind if what's gonna happened.I also thinking if how long will I am gonna stay in this company that I am working right now.If staying here in a long period of time will be worth it in the end.Its really hard to think about but I am still hoping for the best. How bout you friends? How long will you gonna stay in your work right now?Did you see that your long stay in your work will be worth in the end?

I choose to be a college teacher. The job is very stable and honored here, but do not have too much income. I like doing research, so I can do what I like in the college. If it is possible, I prefer to stay here till retire. But if life is quite hard, I may leave it to get a job with higher salary to support my family.

Sometimes with the nature of our jobs wherein we are quite comfortable and used to the works in our job but we are still tend to look for something better due to low compensation that we will get.We still find ways where we can support our family well.Life is really hard yet we really have to be strong and work hard to live not for ourselves only but for our love ones as well.

it depends on the management. Some people I know can endure all the work as long as they feel that the management also thinks and took care of them as well. On my mother's former company, many people also left when the admin changed because it has a different approach of running things - making the company more profit-based than rather than people based. I imagine some of those are long timers and already given 10 - 20 years of their time and effort to the company. If i were you, I try to be open for the new management. New management doesn't always mean better or worse. But if you already have a a clear idea of how things will run, better consider your options.

It would really depends on the management that we are working with. If we think that we are overloaded with work yet underpaid, I guess we better complain and if it didnt work, better find new job wherein we will enjoy and compensated properly. I do hope that our company that we are working or will work with will be considerate enough to their employees.

I really do not know for how long I am going to stay in my currentt company. I have actually planned to transfer in my first company but i ended up staying there for about 6 years! :D haha i mean we really do not know and it would actually depend on many circumstances, that including your example that a company is bought by another company and so on. I guess this is really going to be a very difficult situation especially with all the changes that is going to happen to your company - new bosses, new policies, that will entail adjustments yet again, and of course people being moved around the company, if not asked to leave the company. I remember this has happened to someone I know and that she has actually just resigned because she could no longer cope and adjust to the new management's culture, and so on. For me, I am happy with my job, career, right now and I am hoping I would be staying here for a long time (preferably until I actually retire) I have been with 3 other companies before and I have never felt so secured, happy, and not overly stressed, i do not worry when i am hear whatever time i go home because i live 10 minutes away... and so on. I hope for the best with your current company right now and good luck!

I am planning to stay in my company and in my current department until retirement if there is no chance of leaving the country with my whole family. I love my work, not stressful, I'm learning a lot and my boss and teammates are all nice. As long as those aspects are existing then it is all good. But of course changes are permanent and if ever things get difficult or if they change my boss (current boss might get promoted or retire in the future) then things will be different.

Yes we really have to consider the compensation that we will earn in the company since it is what we are working for to provide enough for ourselves and families. There are some who are overwork yet underpaid so we better look for better work and opportunity in life.

Wow 17 years is indeed a long time! The longest I stayed in a company was 4 years and 10 months and it was in my previous job. I felt I needed a change, to be independent and the pressure was suffocating.

It is really sad to say goodbye to our office mates whom we had been for sometime. Well, 17 years is already a long time. Perhaps it would be good also to take time to relax and find other source of living. Personally,, my longest time in a certain company was 3 years. As of now I am nearly 3 years with my present job and hopefully I would be staying until I retire. But I am doing my best to find a good source of income so that I would not be working in an office anymore. I want to have my own business but I know it will require huge capitalization so I am staying with my present job until I could be able to raise enough fund or I would be successful online, whichever comes first. But in any way that my plan did not materialize, I still have my job which I am sure that I will be staying for long because of the privilege of security of tenure given to us being a government employee.

I guess for us employee we don't have choice since we have to earn to provide for our family.Planning to have a business is great but big amount of capital would be really needed.I do hope to that our online earnings will boost so we could earn and save more for our future plans in life.Lets just hope and look forward for the best to all of us.
