It's February, are you a Valentine fanatic?

Hello you guys! It's the first day of February today and some, if not most, people are just excited because it's the month of love, at least according to them. Well to me, I'm not a Valentine fanatic even during my single days. Now that I am married, I'd rather have our wedding anniversary as our Valentine's day. And to me, this day is not only for love birds. It can be a day to celebrate having the love of your family, friends, even love for yourself :) I'm just not into the idea of buying flowers when it's more expensive, dine in a restaurant in the days where there are too many people even if its the middle of the week, the traffic because there's just too many people in the malls and those busy places, buying those red heart and teddy bear stuff. To me it's been all about business. What about you, what is the significance of February 14 to you?

I love seeing and hearing people greet Happy Valentine on Feb.14. And the way they show it by giving flowers and chocolates. I hope everyday is a valentine.

You can say, I am weird. I am a hopeless romantic but I find celebrating Valentine's day corny. I don't know why. But I just don't like making such effort on that particular day to show your partner that you love him. It's like being unreal.

No, you are not weird, in fact there's many of us who are not really into those Valentine stuff. That's not being corny either, I believe. It's just that opinions differ about valentines and most people want to celebrate this but that does not mean that those who do not want to celebrate it along with everyone is corny or weird or something. Like you, I'm a hopeless romantic too. Even though I am married now, I still ready romance fiction novels from time to time, and relive the days when me and my husbands are still on that stage. You know romance is one of the most wonderful thing we can experience in our life. It's a stage in our lives where we always want to reminisce. It's not that we can't have romance anymore once we got married, and being married after a long time. I think couples can be romantic too from time to time to enhance the relationship. By the way are you married or still looking for love? Have a nice day to you!

Oh yeah, it is already february today! =) How time flies! don't you agree? he he I guess we all have our busy lives and that January just passed by so quickly and now its the Love month already. To be honest, ever since - i really do not think february as any different from other months, it is not as special as i would feel when it is december. February is just as it is, a month - but a faster one because its only got 29 days in total. hehe sometimes only 28.I am, as i feel to be a romantic person, but in my opinion i just do not feel the need to love, show or express love during this month. I feel we should be able to express our feelings all the time, not only on Valentine's day, and not only on our loved one's birthday... The celebration itself of the valentine's day has been too commercialized for me. I would love to have flowers that day but i would appreciate more that my love or partner would remember me and ggive me sweet notes and flowers or chocolates any given day - when he remembers me even without occassion. :D

that is soo true! if any day becomes a valentine's day.. i would most certainly feel the love in the air. ha ha i work with my bf so we have the same workplace and i feel happy that he remembers to leave some cupcakes for snacks and all my office mates would smile as if that is not normal. he he But yeah.. occasions are great that they remember you.. but better that they remember and have you in mind almost every time. he he

Good to hear that from you. Sometimes it's the surprises that's makes us happy, when just what you think as an ordinary day has suddenly becomes a valentine's day, right!

For some people February 14 is such a big deal and lucky for me i really do not mind Valentines day. I like to tell my loved ones I love them every day and make sure that they know it, that way i am more happier. You are right, Valentines is very commercialized and superfacial nowadays. Have you seen those girls walking around with lots of flowers on their hands? They are extra proud of it...well it is their thing too.

Seems like most of us here have the same views about Valentine's huh! That's nice if we believe that love day should be one day in a year only.

Yes! I love this holiday, but I don't have a valentine to share it with, sadly. If you do have one, then go all out! make it a special day. I know people say it's invented by greeting card companies, but still, It's great that people can have such fantastic days! I wish everyone a wonderful valentines day :)

Hi! Don't be sad, I'm sure you can be happy too even you're single. Celebrating your singlehood on valentine's day might be a good idea. You know what I have single friends, and I've been celebrating valentine with them. We don't give flowers and chocolates to each other, of course, but rather we celebrate our friendship on that day. I'm married, and my husband and I would rather celebrate our wedding anniversary than Valentines. So goodluck to you, I hope you'd be happy this coming Valentines and I hope you find that someone to share a special day with. Have a nice day!

Just wonder why everyone is excited to celebrate Valentine's Day. Is there a history of why we celebrate Valentine's Day on the 14th of February? Do people spread their love only on that day? We should spread our love to people everyday. Helping those who are in trouble, feeding the hungry, or give shelteh to those who are homeless.

hello 4Humaira! I agree with you that love should not be celebrated only on the 14th of February. However, this particular day is the feast of St. Valentine, but it does not mean that this day if for sweethearts alone.
