No, not really. I think it's really boring to watch, but I also think marathon, 50 km cross country, 10 000 meter running and 10 000 meter speed skating are boring to watch (not to mention all those weird team speed sports that they're adding) so that's not a good enough reason. Maybe because it's more a game than a sport. I also see golf in the same way, but they've added that I think.

But if you argue that snooker is a sport, then some would argue that they should bring back chess. I think chess was an Olympic sport at some point. You do walk a bit more when you play snooker, but you still play it, it's not enough walking to make it a sport. I think they should bring back rope pulling. It's easy to understand, it's fast and you don't need a lot of expensive and fancy equipment :-)

I can't see no reason why it should be, pool is also a popular game, more so in other countries it seems. But then if they add snooker, then darts would also have to be included. I don't mind watching darts on tv.

It makes sense. If so, perhaps one day Mahjong can be a sports, too

Hello youless. I am surprised that it has not been already included ! It can go in the summer Olympics with great success, especially considering that good players come from both Europe and Asia, and others might rise up for the fame from other continents as well. I do like this sport and would watch it with interest in the Olympics as well, and after I move to UK in September I do want to book some at Sheffield and get to see some live :).

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well yes this sport should be included in Olympics so that snooker players will get encouragement to play to their level best. Besides it will help in popularizing this sport among the people also. When so many new sports are being included why not this sport. What say?

I think snooker is a popular game everywhere, it should be listed in the Olympics.
