Tomorrow I am planning to take a train to Bath and meet a friend there. We can leave as early as we like at the weekend because the peak train fares only apply on week days. I love the old architecture with the sand stone like buildings. Some of the shops there are usual compared to where we live. I am not wishing to buy anything but I like to look in the shop windows. Have you done a lovely day trip on a Saturday or Sunday? Please tell me about this. Which forms of transport do you use to go on a day trip?

It was Saturday. I wanted my niece to take me to a play on Broadway Street - the original. We took a train from New Jersey to New York - my first experience travelling on a local train in a foreign country. The play we chose was 'Betrayal' I was disappointed as it was a 3 cast, single prop play.

I really like your excellent response. Taking the train from New Jersey to New York must have been lovely. I am surprised there was only a three person cast since it was a play you went to on Broadway Street.

So it was. The brochure was placed before me to make a choice. I think there was this other play 'Lion King' was it? but I chose this play. I thought the word 'Betrayal would have something to satiate my imagination but no! My niece's husband dropped us to the Railway Station - a new experience to see a local Railway Station in a foreign country! and waiting for us to get us back too. A wonderful memory maximax! I like doing such things - typically local stuff. I also made them take me to their fish market!

Thanks for wishing me a lovely day out. I will be taking some photos there. The river is very pretty indeed. I remember there is a beautiful park next to that.

Isn't Bath wonderful, I have been there only the once, but it left a lasting memory on me and one which I hope to return to. I remember going there with a friend I was staying with in Wales, Cardiff, we caught a train to Bath and spent the day there. It's very popular and busy when we went. Nowadays I tend to use my car when I want to go on a day trip.

I like going out in the car on a Saturday if I have the money for a day out and usually go somewheer local where we can take the dogs for a run - we used to go to Wales a lot to a beach with the dogs but, it is quite a drive and there isn't much around it so it isn't ideal really to drive all that way and not be able to get some food as well!
