a gossiping deaf-mute neighbor...

While I was waiting for a ride this morning, a neighbor who is a deaf-mute was gossiping with a friend. Although I do not read sign language but I understood what she was saying to the other lady. Based on her actions, she was pointing to the house of another neighbor, and did some slapping actions and pulling of the hair. She was wildly doing the actions of people fighting, meaning the couple next to her were fighting, someone got slapped and someone's hair got pulled. Well, I thought, if this deaf-mute woman who is in her mid 40's could speak normally, she's be the number one gossiper in town. I can see that from how she put all her energy in narrating the story.

I had a gardener who was both deaf and mute but we always felt he 'spoke' the most. They simply love interacting. I learnt his sign language and I would tell him to 'shut up'

It's amusing to watch them. I mean they really talk a lot and doesn't mind if there's people around them. I usually encounter these people in public vehicles and while the other passengers are quite and just sitting tightly, these people do a lot of movements and some little sounds.

They really talk a lot. I do not know why there's a growing number of them. I also see them in internet cafes.

I don't know why they tend to be really talkative when they could not really talk.

I think that though they are somewhat disabled, they tend to show off what they can do so that people would not look down on them. Well, you know how the usual deaf and mute people that we would see. There are some who are quite timid, right? But some might be having such confidence that they act like any normal person, and so gossiping is one thing that they can do.

Really? How did she know about it, if she can't hear the commotion? Unless of course she's constantly on the window and making a vigil, watching her neighbors for any gossip-worthy stuff. Just kidding, but I can just imagine and pictuire her in my mind. Well, they are also entitled to their own doses of gossip once in a while, I guess. I just hope her neighbor isn't really in big trouble. That is gonna be one helpful gossip if they can actually save the neighbor from any further domestic violence.

I don't know. She probably peeped through the window! You know that even if they can't hear, their other senses are working. Their houses are very close with her neighbors, just like a meter so it is so easy to see. Our house is a bit far from this group of houses so I'd walk and wait for the ride somewhere near their area that is why I go to get the gossip too.
