What people really learn from history.

We always say that we should learn from the history in order not to make the same mistake; however, do we really learn something from the past? In class, teachers told me that human beings learned from the history of WWI and WWII, but what I really know is the wars never stop. (Although I live in a peaceful place) According to thousand years of experience, the scientists and ancestors have tell us that we protect the environment, but there are more slogan than action, more rich and extravagant environmentalists than environmental volunteers. Then let's talk about myself, after pondering over the dicisions made in the past, I find that I also make ridiculous mistakes again and again. Thus, I have a conclusion. What people really learn from history is that "people never learn anything from it!" But these words are not trying to be irony or sarcastic. Put these words in mind, and you might find yourself wiser when making dicisions, because you are really forced to learn something from the past, from now~!

We can get some lessons from the past and it's never easy for you to be wiser accoding to the past lesson. While i think if you gone through something difficult then people will remember how hard you've been through and really learn something.

Actually we all learn from history and that is the first reason why we have a modern society now,and the reason for all the bad things you had mentioned are so complicated,we can explain them from different aspect such as law, nationality, race, the limitation of resources, and so on,but we must have a strong belief that we can make our world better and better.

Mistakes happen several times in one's life. As mistake increases, more learnings added to our life that give spices to our everyday encounter in this world. Don't let mistakes pass through your life without extracting the lessons learned from them. If you don't do that you'll be committing that same mistake over and over again.

What I feel today is that people.are getting uncontrlllable unemotional and irritated and self cented. They don't care what others suffer and ththat they are not having any kind of problems. People needs only their luxury. But when they aRe in problem they want everyone to help them. Today the whole society has become self centred .You are saying of war there is still a war going on which seems to have no end.History repeats itself :I have heard that and also that:people learns from history. If people learns from history then I think World war three will never begin and if they do not learn then history will repeat itself. People had to learn from basic things and understand the meaning of love, feelings and be helpful.

History teaches us what we've done right & what we've done wrong in the past. Now it's our duty to learn from it. We should keep doing what was right in the past like inventing new things, improving lifestyle & stop doing what was wrong like wars.

I have learned things from the past such as stand up for your right , never give up because there is always a way . I have also watch others and observed them and try not to make their mistake and sometimes their solution for a mistake is also the one I may need for my mistake .

First of all it depends if you like history at all plus as you see it as a life lesson or just a great story from the past. Secondly it's proved we all need to have our own experiences (life experiences) to remember what went wrong for us as person, plus we need the experience how to solve it. Only this will help us in the future. Stories about others (no matter if they are history or from our parents or the neighbour) do not work in reality.

The truth is the wise people is studying the history because they are trying to see what were the mistakes why influential people of the past were not able to control the world and that what they will do. Other common people might have learned yet they were not able to share these learning to others and so the history repeats itself. We are learning and discovering new things. If not we will not be here interacting with each other considering our distance and time differences. Have a nice day!

If people learned from history war would have stopped as soon as the history of war was written down for people to learn from it. So your conclusions are unfortunately correct. People in power or wanting power or losing power will take any action they consider necessary. On a personal note however things are a little brighter and although most of us take some time to learn from our past mistakes, by and large we eventually make the changes necessary to improve our relationships or our lives in general. Admitting our failures requires a fair degree of honesty and humility and not everyone is honest enough or humble enough to change their ways.
