We all wait. Waiting is a perpetual phenomena. It could last for a minute, an hour, a day, may be months, years or for some who do not know when to stop waiting, it could be forever. How significant is waiting for you and what are you waiting for?

Though it is a boring task, I face sometimes this with patience and courage! During that period, I send SMS to my friends ti utilize that interval of time. It is a part of our living and at present I'm waiting for your response! Thanks and waiting...!

How many sms.s did you send waiting for my response!. How many hours or months would have have to wait for whatever you are waiting. Will you stop waiting after some time when whatever you are waiting will not materialise. I believe in having a cut off time for whatever I am waiting for. Happy waiting.

Just like you said, we all wait. Well, there maybe instances that we wait because someone or something tells us to do so. There are also times that we do wait for our own choice. In life, I believe there are lots of waiting happening everyday of our lives. Even just inside the house, you wait til the water is hot in the kettle, wait til you prepare things or food and stuffs. But there are times, that we wait for something even if we are not sure if it will come... Sometimes, things don't come for there are much better ones that come even if we didn't wait for it... Be thankful enough for those things you have even if you don't ask for it...

The worst is when guests do not turn up at the time specified. I remember a friend of ours and her husband were invited to lunch. I had prepared a special salad for her with her in mind, decoration and all. They did not turn up till 2. We waited impatiently and finally we dug into the salad and we had our lunch without waiting for them. When they finally arrived they ate the food that was prepared for them but the salad was all broken1 Waiting as you say has its plus and minus points. Sometimes waiting may not be to our advantage and vice versa. Most of our time anyway is spent, waiting!

I was disappointed too as they were not able to see how the salad was decorated! I had taken a lot of trouble over it.

Haha, this must be quite sad for them of course, the salad is all the girl wanted in the first place, isn't it? But it's their fault, they have arrived late so, what will they expect, right? Specially when they didn't even let you keep informed why they came late. There are people who are really like that. And instances that we can't blame others depends on what really happened why they came in late. Oh well, at least they still get to eat the salad. You're right, most of our lives, we do is wait.

I think you just saw the movie, "The Terminal". If you didn't see it, go see it. The whole movie is based on the waiting thing, and it's a good watch. Yes, we all wait. I just finished waiting for the right words to come into my head. Then, I am waiting right now to finish what I have to say in this matter. After that, I will wait for you to respond back to what I have said. We all wait. The most painstaking wait though is when you need to go to the loo, and someone already is in the loo. That is what nobody wants waiting for, and that is what most of us ends up waiting for most of the times. :D

No. I am not into movies of late.I must thank myLot for it. Whatever spare time I have I spend it here! What is this movie about. Did that 'waiting thing' in the movie stir you in anyway? Your wait to get the right words to post here was worth it as I enjoyed reading your post. That loo thing is indeed torture! Hopefully I have not made you wait for long for this post!

Just to share my outlook on this, for me "waiting" develops in us a very important virtue and that's patience. Also, when we wait, we tend to practice our faith. Faith is believing of the unseen (favorable unseen things). I am always waiting for many things. But my manner of waiting is not passive. I make sure that I spend my time in a productive way. You can be busy while waiting. For your last question, what I am waiting for... well, I am waiting for that day that my Lord will come or that day when I am to graduate in this life. But every morning I wake up, I thank HIM for the opportunity of my existence... then I continue waiting while living.

Waiting does help us develop our patience. But if waiting is done with restlessness then it is possible our adrenalin will rise to unwanted proportions! Waiting for the arrival of someone and each time looking out to see if there is anyone at the gate could be a good example of that. I am famous for that. If someone is expected at 4 I will be waiting for their arrival from 3 My brother used to parade up and down waiting for something or the other Continuing to wait while living is what all of us do as there is not a single day that we are not waiting! I am waiting, at this moment to see the light of day so that I can stroll in the garden. It is just about 6 in the morning now! @giggles - Haste does make waste and so patiently waiting has its advantages!

We both agree on patience as a fruit of waiting. It does irks if we tend to wait for people and it does raises the adrenalin or stress. But what I learned, I can maximize the waiting time to my advantage. I usually bring a book or a drawing pad. Or sometimes, I bring my Ipod shuffle to listen to music. But the best strategy that I learned so I would not have to wait long is that I come earlier to the agreed time and they've known me for that. Those I am meeting with tend to come late but not very late. I don't get mad or shout back at them. But I do make them feel guilty in some ways. Hehehe...

I was just thinking of it the same way. Being able to wait means patience because sometimes, in my case, haste makes waste. Just because we are given the free will we tend to seize the moment even if waiting a little longer would give us a better result.

How significant is waiting for me? Well, it depends. For now, I'm waiting for my boyfriend to marry me. We have talked about this often and he asks me to wait. So this "wait" is what I'm doing and it's kind of important.

Your wait is the 'mother of all waits' MissPiggy. A new world will unfold for you when the wait is over. I hope your boy friend will not make you wait for long. How long would that be since you met?

somehow this reminds me of school days when we were required to read Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett and The Killers by Ernest Hemingway. just an hour ago, it was getting frustrating how slow the site was and getting a blank page or unable to post. then i finally looked at the bottom of the page and learned something. midnight at mylot is 2pm my time so from now on, i will avoid mylotting during that time. if i'm waiting for someone to show up, but i know they might not since they're thinking of going away for a while, it's okay. happy trip. usually, you think of it because you need it.

At every nook and corner of our life we get to wait. I too waited. An unexpected thing happened to my pc. It would not boot as the fan was not working. My technician said I should wait atleast for an hour and then try again. See. At every nook and corner of our life there will be something that will make us wait! You too are waiting for someone. Waiting, waiting, waiting. Will there be a time we shall stop waiting?

I am waiting for something but this is 'something' which I cannot write about. It is deep within my heart , a wishful thinking, a prayer for something to happen. It is in the hands of another person.I made some efforts to see it happens but it was of no avail. I am praying to God that He should get into this person's mind and make it happen. It is linked to a trauma [ or may be I should say an 'emotional knock and disillusionment 'which took me years to get over.I still yearn for some "might have been's". We make so many mistakes in life and must live with them. Nevertheless I have faith in the Almighty and am still hopeful that it would come through one day in the near future.

That kind of a wait can weigh one down but since you have this strong desire I suppose you cannot say that you have waited long enough and that you must now move on. Some waits are exciting and some not. I remember when we were kids my mother who had gone for my sister's confinement was to return with her and the child who was by then 6 months old. Something went wrong with their travel plans and we were not sure when they would arrive. That wait was the longest and most anxious in my life kala. I had watched a mime show about waiting. Waiting for different things - a lover waiting, someone waiting for the train, someone waiting for rain.....That play was hilarious!

Waiting can be forever if one is not careful. I know there were a ton of things I wanted to do when the children were little but when I woke up one day...that time was gone. I think that waiting can be a great asset but there is also the time to act. If I could go back I wouldn't have waited near as much but, at the time, it made sense.

I was waiting for your response! Waiting also has to be carefully done as you have put it. Looking back I too feel I waited for things that I now know would never have happened. Now I move on giving myself a cut off time sooner. A futile wait is best avoided.

I am not really good at it...in fact, I am the impatient one. :) I remember, my results used to be announced in July and Jan...and oh boy...I used to wait there in the rain for the postman to arrive...and dad used to be..like...get inside, you will get sick...and so on...and he went and told that to one of my bosses, who was not very good at keeping that secret, and everybody in the world knew...lol

Right now, I am waiting for two cranky serials to get over..."Bade Achche Lagte hain", and another one..I dont even remember its name...about some doctor marrying a girl half his age..and whatever. I can switch off lights only after that...and then only I can get good sleep with no sound. :)

Waiting can be quite a strain on those who are impatient. I will always make my toffees or halwa half done as I cannot wait for it to be fully done. It goes back on the gas for a while again. Waiting for exam results could be the worst as we have gone through it year in and year out. I still remember the day our last year's results. Till my brother brought the paper I had no patience. I did not even eat that day till he came home. I don't think there is a single day that we do not wait for something or the other!

I am glad you liked this post. Waiting is fun if what we are waiting for will relax us in a way. I was waiting for the postman and he arrived with some mail. Early morning I was waiting for my domestic staff. They came on time. I don't like waiting for public transport nor waiting for someone who does not know the meaning of punctuality. There used to be a family who always came late for parties and we all had to wait for them. That wait was the most tiring wait ever!

Many times we have to wait because our life depends on others. We wait for the President who will arrive hours after the appointed hour We wait for the plane to arrive as an announcement is made that it is delayed indefinitely. We wait for our exam results. We even wait here to check our participation whether there are any deletions! Wait, wait, wait!!!

I am waiting for that moment where I can let go of my regrets and fears. It feels like an endless wait.. I've wasted so much time and opportunity that ended in disappointments. Waiting would mean more than being patient, it would give me time to know what is truly important to me.

Waiting does diffuse situations. Waiting period gives one, as you have rightly pointed out the opportunity to assess situations and make changes where necessary. Doing anything in a hurry can lead to regrets later on. Having the intention to move on is half the battle won. You seem to be in the right direction. While you are waiting I am sure you will get the insight to know what is good for you.

Waiting is a large portion of my life. Its somewhat inevitable in most cases. Sometimes it bugs me to no end and others I am just content adn don't mind the waiting. In life we all want instant gratification but at times the waiting makes life that much sweeter, in reality.

That was a tense waiting if I might call it. With so many things happening on the Net that was a bit of anxious waiting for all of us. There was such a relief when everything became normal. Not many can conduct themselves well when there is some kind of waiting involved. I am one of those. My patience wares out pretty soon. Those who can wait without getting bothered are the lucky ones. They say restlessness while waiting is not good for health. I should learn to breathe while I am waiting!

Waiting..waiting! There are different kinds of waiting, for me! Waiting for person's whom punctuality is negligible, is painful and annoying and something that really rankles me! But waiting for the beauty to unfold of the next Spring..is waiting with anticipation of the good things this season brings!

You ARE far, far too funny, Missy! But, I truly am not worthy of such a fine compliment...but I sure like it! Thank you! I hear you loud and clear, about waiting...to me, there are degrees of waiting! I like all time, that I get to share this earth, my waiting be constructive! When I know I will be waiting, it is nice to be wiling away those times accomplishing a goal. You have named the ones specifically that irk me...Late for dinner's...Late for appointments...! I like to be prepared for waiting, because it's Murphy's Law, if you get fed up waiting, attempt a project (or at least me)I end up double chagrined .. because of the lateness, and the project is half-mast! Don't think I am making a lot of sense this A.M. I have ANOTHER Winter Cold coming on...took some meds last nite, I was still wide awake at 1:45, forgot to change my alarm, and to soon it was 4:00 a.m., so the brain compartment is filled with FOG and congestion! Woe is me!

I do wait for your majesty's arrival here sometimes perga. That wait is worth it as I like to interact with you. To think that all of us are waiting for something or the other throughout our life. Not all waits are pleasant like the results of our medical tests, waiting for the service guys....I could go on and on.

What kind of waiting are we talking about here? If waiting for someone because you have agreed to meet at a certain place and time, then the person does not come on time, let's we agreed we would meet at two in the afternoon and I arrived there in time, then one hour had already passed and that person has not arrived yet, I would probably just leave because that's disrespect with my time. Respect with other people's time is a must in our lives and we should always observe it. The other form of waiting, like waiting for a job promotion, or waiting for an opportunity is another story. I guess it depends on our attitudes towards certain things, right?

Any kind of waiting. Our life is centred round waiting right from the time we are born till we leave this world. But each of us wait for different things. Some get everything on a platter. They don't need to wait but these are very few. Sometimes are wait may not give the desired results as we may have based it on a wrong premise. But one needs to take these things in ones stride. Waiting for a call after an interview could be a good example.

When waiting takes us over it shows that we are never satisfied with what we have Having said that sometimes we are waiting for something that we need for our survival. I hope no one waits for that but only waits for dreams that one can do with out. I am wishing that for you too averygirl!

That is a cool username. Especially since it goes along with your question. I hate to wait for stuff in life(though I keep waiting for almost everything :S).
