Here we go again--Winter Storm Nemo Pounds the Northeast....

With many towns and states still recovering from Hurricane Sandy, this latest storm is going to cause real trouble. The Jersey shore and New York City are seeing flood waters rise already, and it's not even high tide. They are talking blizzard force winds throughout the night, up to 65 miles an hour, with snowfall in some places of more than 2 FEET! People are expecting massive power outages, downed trees, and other damage. The region has not really recovered from the Hurricane yet, and now we are faced with this. The Northeastern US has traditionally been an area with moderate weather; we do have storms, but not like these. I hope this isn't an omen of things to come. Stay safe, everyone!

We have been reading about this since a couple of days and the predictions have been proved right. There was warning and so hopefully everyone affected must have been mentally and physically prepared. Hope everyone is ready to face it. I wish them safety wherever they are.

I just saw on the news that in Long Island they have measured 80+ mile an hour winds and the snow is falling at a rate of 3 inches an hour. You are right, though--luckily we had advance warning so hopefully everyone has gotten prepared.

Hopefully...if you are prepared for the worst than everything else should be ok.

Hope you are okay....I hear they are watching another one headed for New York. I live in Minnesota and I would love to have a good old fashioned snow storm. We haven't had one in years....today it's been raining all day....yuck!

We are fine, thanks...I think the next storm is only going to be rain--but you never know. Parts of Long Island, Connecticut and New England really took a beating though. Isn't it strange that here in Northeast, we now get more snow than you do in Minnesota? The climate is definitely changing, I think!

Right now the snow is falling steadily. There is some wind. But I'm hoping that this as eventful as it gets. It seems like the road crews are keeping on top of clearing streets and driveways. So I'm just not going to expect the worst. What did Mr. Groundhog say about the winter?

Glad to hear that--hopefully they will be able to keep up with it. Mr. Groundhog said we are going to have an early spring--so this better be the last snowfall!!!!
