I've heard of it before but never actually used it. Wasn't fond of chatting. Had chatted in yahoo but only for short period of time coz i got annoyed by all the bugs that yahoo eventually fixed and is still fixing until now. Was into msn, but skype offered a much better video call and crisper audio calls. I'm using skype until now to have my online classes. I don't chat on my computer. I use different kinds of messengers. I have whatsapp, kakaotalk, line, viber, voxer, and for my husband i use couple. Before all of these, i had the blackberry messenger.

i know MIRC..!! just like you that it was my very first chatting link. lol. i can say that i was addicted to MIRC since i tried it. and i got some exciting experiences during using this tool. like this one, i logged in to mirc then starting had chatting with some users around the world. then suddenly there's someone greet me. he said he really needed someone to talk to cos he was in a bad condition. he forced me to give him my phone number. i rejected at the first cos i didnt wanna have real relationship with people i met in mirc. i just wanted to have fun. but he kept insisting me. and when he said he stayed away from the city i lived, i gave him my phone numbet finally. then he asked me to go home and he promised me to call me right away i reached my bedroom. and he didnt tell a lie. my phone was ringing when i just reached my bedroom. then we had a very long chatting via telephone and he promised me to call me often. and he did it. someday he said that he really wanted to see me. cos i was also curious with him, i let him visiting me. we met finally. he was nice but he is shorter than me and really not my type. he stopped calling me after our meeting and i didnt feel losing him. he came so suddenly and he went away as sudden as his arrival. lol. it was my best experience using mirc. now ienjoy YM and whatsapp..:)

We used to be on Mirc all of the time. I think the last time was probably in 2002 or so. My husband was on there for years before, but in the last days we were one, no one seemed very active, and there would be people who were on idle for several weeks, if not longer. I liked some of the smiley icons on MSN messenger. Yahoo was good for awhile, until most of the messages were bots. I use skype from time to time, mainly to keep in contact with family. I use the chat on FB a few times a week. I still have accounts with the others, but it has been years since I have been on yahoo and even longer since MSN.

Yeah I can still remember using MIRC chat before during my college days. In fact I have gained so many friends from all across the globe in countries like Thailand, Indonesia, Poland, United States of America, Puerto Rico. The people on MIRC chat were so cool, they were so accommodating and very sociable not unlike now wherein people on chat do not even respond to your message, ignore every bit of notice you give. I was hooked by this application before, and I even had a chance to have a girlfriend from Puerto Rico because of MIRC. On the other hand I was able to find good friends too from the Philippines. They came from Iloilo, Cebu, Manila, Samar, Davao, La Union and so many places. We were very good friends, we exchanged addresses, wrote letters including love letters. There is one girl before from Iloilo wherein I courted her through MIRC and we became lovers then but we never met in person. The chat application was so exciting, event though all you see are messages. I can remember choosing a channel or somewhat chat room in order to talk or send a message to everyone there. The people in those rooms were so friendly and nice to talk to although there are still some who just ignore you or send rude messages but mostly were friendly. I felt sad that these type of chat application is gone, it was so simple, user-friendly, and simply exciting to use.

Oh yes, I still remember mIRC. The time I learned mIRC was the first time I ventured into learning about computers. I didn't know anything about how to handle a computer and I only learned from a friend who invited me to chat on mIRC. After a year I created a channel there, we hung out on DalNet. We made friends with chatters from Canada and Ecuador and one of my close friends actually married our Ecuadorian friend. They've been married for like 7 years I think and he hasn't returned to Ecuador yet. They now have 2 kids.

Today i rarely use mirc, but i know what mirc is... for chatting i mainly use yahoo messenger or irssi (same function as mirc), i rarely chat these days. I rather meet my friends directly than online because most of my work done in computer, i got really sick of just sitting in my office and stare at monitor. So whenever i can, i try to hang out with my friends in my free time.

Yeah I did when my classmate invited me at the opening of their computer school. My aunt sent us computer but I was a kid then and no one even in my neighborhood knew how it should work. So when I was in highschool my friend taught me about computer and she taught me about MIRC and chatting and the rest is history .
