How convenient

I noticed my pay was a little short money, I get an email this afternoon while at work. My old job (the one I just got fired from), forgot to give me my vacation pay, and my termination pay. That it will be in a cheque this week sometime. Typical, I assume this is how they want the key back, it's $400. I am calling the labour board monday, they have until Monday to give me the papers, and the ,money whereas she said after Thursday it will be ready. I know the manager will be rude, she always have comments. I will go in hand the key and uniform, and pick up my pay and papers. I wont say anything to her, if she says anything it's not my fault what comes out of my mouth now that I dont work there and don't have to hold in what comes to my mind.

I would sue them. They are paying you off to avoid a law suit, in my way of thinking. I think they want you to take the money so you can't sue them for wrongful termination.

Legally, they can do this. With no reason, they can ay a termination fee, and fire you on the spot. I called the labour baord and they stated this.

I hope that everything will turn out good with your previous employer. And if they still won't give you the money they owe you, you really need to file a complaint.

I will, the owners sent the email, and do the pay, not the manager.

It is funny, they could not forget and pay you double. Those kinds of mistakes never happen. It does give you a reason and opportunity to return their stuff though. You certainly do not need the keys or the uniform.

It is, I am washing the apron tonight to bring in, and the keys on my keychain. I know the manager has something to say, she has no filter.
