An enjoyable Time

My wife and I went dancing Saturday night. It was a Valentine’s Day dance with just a small group of about 80 people. At 73 and 70 we were the oldest couple there but that did not stop us from enjoying the evening and even into the wee hours of the morning. It has been a particular stormy winter here and we had been spending far too much time inside. The music started about 10:30 PM and shut down at 3 AM and I think we were on the floor more than seventy-five percent of the time! I slept in until 9:30 this morning only to find that my wife had already been up for more than an hour! In the summer and Fall I do a fair bit of walking and sometimes even in the winter. This year however, we have had so much snow and ice that it has been nearly impossible to walk at all – so this was a real treat and one that was badly needed. How are you managing this winter?

What a lovely couple at your age I am sad to see that many young couple failed in their marriage. I am happy to see old couples that is still have their romance till the end, that is so sweet and reflect the meaning of true love.

It's been a very warm winter. The bad news is, the Sierra snow pack is low...

Pardon the pun but it sure sounds like you had a ball at the dance! I am no dancer, maybe because I am too self conscious of myself and have too many inhibitions. I can safely say that we have seen the last of the winter, the saying goes March is in like a lion and out like a lamb. We only had one bout of bad snow, but that was short-lived. I can see the flowers starting to rear their welcoming heads again as we prepare for Spring!

Hi wolfie, Thank you for responding and yes we had a lot of fun. Sometimes getting older helps us get past our inhibitions. I wish I could say our winter was over but we probably have a few more weeks yet. Blessings.

We are having a cold wet winter, not to much snow but a lot of fog. I don't drive in fog or snow so that may have kept us home more than usual. Or it maybe the gas prices. Hubby has a hard time staying warm in winter, and I just hate those cold feet in bed, I try to get him to wear socks but so far unacceptable for him.

You seem to be wonderfully alive for your age and You certainly had a good time then.I can imagine your happiness knew no bounds at the dance hall ,even if it was a world of ice and snow outside. Here It is a mild winter compared to yours. We have had several falls of snow this year, but they were not that heavy.

Hi changjiangzhibin89, Thank you for sharing and we did have a good time. The weather has been bad since then, keeping us inside but hopefully it will get warmer soon. We are still hoping to get out again on St. Patric's Day, weather permitting of course. Blessings.

That is sooo awesome! Your very lucky to have each other...I wish I could find a nice guy to go dancing with. I don't do winter well because I hate the cold. I'm the 'couch potato' type right now.

Well, the winters here in Kentucky have not been that bad ,but I still hate to do anything outside if is cold. We have the house for sale and we are moving to Florida once the house is sold ,so I'm going to become very active again. Ha Ha! can't wait to live in the sunshine state again!

My wife and I went to a Canadian Dinner on Sunday. I was the oldest man,and we were the longest married couple attending the celebration at Alamo Palms in South Texas. It was a bit scary to be pointed out, as the oldest Canadian in this American RV park. However we had fun,(and I ate so much I spoiled my supper.) The temperature reached 84* F. here this afternoon, just right for a swim in the pool.

It's nice that you all enjoyed your Valentine's Day dance. Feels like old times, huh? When the weather is nasty, I've just been staying in. When it is fairly nice, I get out to the grocery to stock up for when it is not nice. Right now, it is raining so I'll be in for the next day or so.

I think it's wonderful you can go to a dance and have a good time. Rarely are there dances out there with music you can actually 'dance' too. We used to have them here but that was years ago. This winter has been a strange animal. We get the snow and cold then next week it's in the 40's and 50's. We do get stir crazy but on the nicer days we go to the park and jog around the track or play basketball. Our library stays open till 8pm on Thursdays so we are there often too. Seems like there aren't a lot of options during the winter in these smaller towns but we're making the best of it.

I think that it is great that a couple both in their 70s can till enjoy each other. I think that it so sweet and loving that you attended a valentine's dance together. Even if you were the oldest couple there, you should be an inspiration to the younger ones there. I hope that your remaining years together will be just as romantic and blessed.
