About women desperately trying to look young and not accepting nature... So they take a potion that gives them eternal life.. at a price.. They never die.. but they have to be very careful with their bodies since thy cannot be repaired.. it was a really funny movie but with a moral. People just have to accept that we will not live and stay young forever..(physically) but with the little time we have, we should do something that would be remembered and enjoy life.

This is an old movie. Didn't expect there to be a new discussion on this.
The movie is quite good as you said. It's funny with a moral lesson. The two women were so focused on getting revenge on each other and staying young that they did not truly enjoy their life unlike the husband who saw how superficial life would be if it was eternal and decided to move on.

I just watched this recently too.
I agree with you that movies from the 90s are better. Movies these days dont have much creativity in them. I guess they're kinda running out of good ideas. Probably also explains why half of the movies these days are based on fairytales.
i do prefer movies from the 90s.

I loved this movie as a kid and have watched it a few times recently and I still enjoy it. I also let my daughter watch it with me as I saw it around her age and she also really liked it!
I really love Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn in this movie.
This movie is really about vanity and competition. You can't live forever and you need to take care of your self and your body...unless you're good with spray paint!
Definatly a must see!

I guess it is a movie that for all people - but there is some violence.. and they just took it lightly and comically. But it definitely had a good moral lesson. People should eat healthy stuff and stop "fixing" themselves, those procedures could actually get them killed.

I watched this film afew months ago after not seeing it for several years. I think it is halarious and loved the way the two women had such a feud going and then had to help eachother. The last scene on the steps is so funny! It is quite a spoof on plastic surgery too I think. Putty and glue and spray paint. How funny!

Yes, alot of people in Hollywood should watch this movie and hopefully get the moral of the story. They continue to do work on their faces and bodies to the point they are not recognized anymore. I will never understand how people don't realize that God made everyone perfect in his eyes. You can't ever make it better then he. I saw this movie years ago, it is hysterical with Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn.

I have seen that movie when I was still a kid. I find it scary then and I wasn't able to sleep very well. NOw whenever I chanced upon it being shown on cable TV, I find it funny. What a good lesson about people who give too much importance in appearances rather than the inside which where it really counts the most.

Hi there!!! I remember this movie. I watched it ages ago. I can say that this movie is funny. They are three women right? And they cant die but then their bodies are slowly rotting and decayed... they will see their skin not as good as when they were truly alive. Hehe
I miss this movie!! I hope i can see it again. Thanks for sharing as well.

The main focus is on the 2 women who were friends before but are now competing against each other and nature- aging and everything. I think you're talking about the other woman who gave them the magic potion.. Its scary to still be "alive" and rotting.

i so like this movie. meryl streep, bruce willis and goldie hawn. they're so funny. they're already immortal because of the potion. the funniest part there was at the anding where their bodies were fallen into pieces and still bother to ask where they parked their car.
