A couple visiting San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge on Valentine's Day discovered an unattended camera bag in a nearby parking lot. Inside the bag: credit cards, some papers and (wait for it) over $11,000. Read the article on Yahoo News.com What would you have done with that kind of find...be honest we don't know YOU!!!!!!

Wow ... I hope I am the one found it . Then, the dilemma and temptation will get my adrenaline rush. The questions is, is it belong to the bad gang which means I will be hunted down by them. Or could it be a 'Hidden camera show" like "Gags", then I will be in for the wold to see my reaction and excitements, waiting to see my honesty or greed!!! Now, what should I do? Feel the money and then report to the authority, maybe the owner felt grateful and gave me some money as rewards. I will be happy to do some good deed in my life :)

I can certainly understand your response, but could you have honestly lived with that decision...knowing that your life would have been a bit better but at someone else's missfortune??

That's is so great for them to return the money, I'm sure the owner are looking for it. They may need it, especially if its is an emergency. God Bless them!!!

That's a good one. Hmmm what would I do? Well since there were credit cards there are names. I think I would be afraid to keep it for the simple fact whoever left it there may have been watching to see if it was turned in. That's a lot of money though sure would be tempted to keep it. I'd turn it in, if it's not claimed, I think it's within 30 days you get to keep it. So I'd hope for that.

I hope the owner gave the founder a reward for turning it in. That would be the decent thing to do. After all they really didn't have to turn it in

If you had just told me there was only $11,000 in the bag I'd keep it but only because there is no evidence of whose it is. If I found something in the paper, or on a pole that a bag was missing then I'd return it. But since you mentined credit cards and papers I'd track the person down and return it all. It's not nice to take it if you know who it belongs to

Yeah I do, it's natural to me even if I feel the urge to just keep it I can't because how would I feel if I lost it, I wouldn't feel good that's for sure.

Boy it would be tempting to keep, but I do think my conscience would get the best of me. I would have to report it and hope no one claimed it. I would be afraid it belonged to some criminals and would know that I had it.

If there was no identification I would keep it of course, but if there was identification I would give it back to its rightful owner.

As tempting as it would be to keep it, I would return it. There are credit cards there which tells me that it is stolen and some of the money more than likely belongs to the people owning the cards. You actually did not say if the cards belonged to different people so it could be that the cards belong to the same person owning the cash and bag. Maybe it was a tourist taking pictures. IT's a lot of money. I would want someone to return it to me if they found it and so that is what I would do.

Thanks for responding...the article did not disquish how many cards there were or who's names were on them...But the bag had monies of many families/tourist from China and this one man was holding all thier monies and maybe their CC also...

Well, I would have deposited such stuff at a local police station, and also asked them to ring me when they find the owner. However, I would have asked for a big party from the fellow(s) whose things I would have found.

It would be easy. If there are credit cards, then I would know who the owner is. I would track him down and bring him their money. If there isn`t any way to reach the owner (not this case), I`d keep it. I would not turn it over to the police then. I don`t trust that the money would be returned.

Honestly, I would be the kind of person that would try to find the rightful owner of the money. The reason that I would do this is because of the fact that if I was to lose my money and things, I would hope that someone would do that for me. However, if I was not able to find the rightful owner on my own, then I have to admit that after a period of time, I would be the kind of person that would end up spending the money. I wouldn't ever turn it into the police because of the fact that I tend to believe that in many situations like this when the money is turned over to the police it is never returned to its rightful owner.

Wow, I really appreciate your honesty..and I can totally agree with your response...and your way of handleing the situtation seem so logical..you are right the Police can not always be trusted.. The bag also had credits cards with names, probably Chinese names because thats where the tourist were from... I am just surprised they had not reported it to the police..

As stated there were credit cards and most likely there would have been information of who owns the bag and money, I'd turn it in. Karma nowadays is already in express so.. :) I may have found $11,000 but I may lose my life bec of it or spend the rest of my life in prison. lol.

Hi, I would have been returned it back to its owner. we should not grab the owing of others. my conscience would not allow me to do so. God is always with the honest people. I would like to make the owner happy by returning his valuable bag.

You are so right. Not only would the owner be happy with his bag with its booty but we teach our children also a lesson by being honest.
21 Feb 13
I'd have deposited the money in a savings account immediately. Then I'd go through the process of trying to contact the original owners and, when found, transfer it to them. And keep the interest.

I think using money like this is a bit scary. I don't really think i would use the money but for sometime i would rack my brains if i can use some amount if not full. Because i have spotted the bag and then may be it is my luck to use little if not all the money. But it is still very risky to use it. Because i can't use credit cards it has details. I cannot even use all the money it has numbers on it so probably there are chances that some crime which i am unaware is done for those money and i use them, i may be caught in it as well even when i am not guilty. So it is worth to give a thought before going ahead with anything stupid. I think it would be better if i give it to the cops and ask them to reward me in fact.

Glad to hear about this news, really the couples are very lucky to found out this much of cash in a special day. If i got this amount, surely i will contact the near by police station with the bag and try my maxiwum to hand over the money to the owners.
