No more junk foods for me!

I had not been very careful with what I eat in the past. I go to the gym but when it comes to food, I usually eat anything from fatty foods to junk food. I was so confident that nothing bad will happen to me as I am into exercising. However, after eating so a lot of salty junk foods, I started to feel pains on my lower back. Alarmed, I took some vitamins to help me cleanse my kidneys because that's where I thought the pains emanated. Thank God, that seemed to work because the pains went away after drinking one capsule of the vitamin. Now I have learned my lesson. I am never ever going to buy junk foods again!

I sweat a lot at the gym, and know I have to replace the fluids as well as the salts, you can get these special drinks which replace vital fluids in your body. With eating foods, everything in moderation, as you know, I don't cut out junk food totally, I like to have my chocolate and my chips but I limit how much I have each day. The only thing I find is that I cannot exercise more than 3 times a week but that's due to my medication making me so sleepy and because I am getting older too, in my youth I would easily go 4 or 5 times a week. I think 3 times is good.

I think the pain you experienced was a build up of gas and sludge from the foods you ate building up in your bowel. That stuff clogs your system so badly and the pain can emanate from your lower back and up to your waist. Taking the vitamin capsule would not be what made the pain go away but it's likely that the fluid you drank was able to dislodge some of the gunk there. Please do not think that a vitamin will cleanse your kidneys. This is so not true.

Yes, more of unhealthy food does not help. Even I am guilty of having such food occasionally, and sometimes more of it. So, I too need to be careful about having junk food. Eating, balanced and nutritious diet is a good way of attaining and maintaining good health.

I have to say that you simply must be a much stronger person than I am because though I really do think that I would be able to give up some of the junk food that I eat, I really don't think that it would be possible for me to give up all of the junk that I like to eat from time to time. I've struggled with my weight throughout my life, but I have found in my experience that it is a lot better to moderate the foods that I eat as opposed to eliminating things from my diet that I do like to eat.

Hi! It is never too late to mend. It is good that you have understood the fact that eating junk food serves little purpose. Eating healthy food such as fresh seasonal fruits, salad, roasted nuts and leafy green vegetables is better for our health. I also avoid taking junk food. I prefer home cooked simple food. All the best.

Hi Cutie18f It's very admirable to swear off of junk food. I don't think I could. I know it is not good for me but I think in moderation all things are ok. I eat far less junk that I used to, but every once in awhile I crave something and so I allow myself. If I don't, I overeat on healthy things and that is not healthy either..at least this is my rationalization/justification

Hi cutie! It's a good thing that you were able to realize it soon. Yes we have to take good care of our body because we cannot find spare parts for this. I personally don't eat junk foods because I don't like salty foods. Have a great day!

Oh yes echo! the problem that I can see in my near future is my eyes because you know our kind of work. So if only we can buy spare parts for this then maybe we have to start looking for now. Actually, this phrase is common in highways in our place reminding the driers to be careful when driving. Have a nice day!

Yes, too much junk food is bad. But sometimes I cannot help indulging in some. We always of course make sure we will not overdo it. Everything in excess is harmful. Besides, there are other healthier options to substitute snacking on Junk foods. Healthier alternatives like fruits, nuts, wheat breads and oats that are prepared for snacking.

Wow, I actually read that junk food indeed have a relation with forming of kidney stones. This is some sentences from the news "Doctors are puzzling over what seems to be an increase in the number of children with kidney stones, a condition some blame on kids' love of cheeseburgers, fries and other salty foods." This is some kind of proof that it's just better to avoid junk food if you can, not only caused heart problem but actually other diseases like kidney stones.

Junk foods is not good for our health specially if we eat a lot of it., maybe a little amount once in a while won't hurt us but if you can avoid it then do it.. there's nothing even better than eating fresh food.. like vegetables and fruits., if you want some snack there are lots of healthy options right there.. you can make home made sandwiches, yoghurt, etc,. Health is wealth so we should take care of our body..

I feel bad for you. Junk food is one of my guilty pleasures. But I guess eating healthy can give you some sort of satisfaction too. Combined with vitamins hopefully it would soon turn you into very happy and healthy person. I could use some healthy diet too and maybe loose some weight but I'm too addicted to junk food. I have to admit that I admire your determination Cutie18f.

People do learn only when they suffer pain. It is just so hard to change unhealthy lifestyle unless the bad effects come. Junks, junks, junks! So many people live on junks and they make their life shorter that way. In spite of the fact that they know knows junks aren't good, they just shrug their shoulders because junks taste really good to them. The result, kidney and liver problem and sometimes even Cancer. It is good you learned your good reason. I hope you don't go back to your old junk habit. Instead of junks, grab fruits or veggies. Eat healthy and live healthy. What you eat is what you are.... remember.

I eat plenty of junk food too, and i know I shouldn't but it is just so hard to stop cold turkey. I have started though, to eat more veggies during the day, like carrots and celery. I buy the baby carrots and celery sticks, and I can really get into them, that is for sure. They are healthier and less fattening too. I am not all that cautious what I eat, but I certainly should be, as I don't want to eat the wrong things all the time. I guess I have to be like you, and just not buy junk food, that way, I wouldn't be tempted to eat it, since i wouldn't have it in my house. I want to eat more nuts and grains too. Thank you for this discussion, as it really makes me stop and think, before i put something in my mouth that isn't good for me. Take care, and have a very good day.

Hi Good that you decided to stop taking junk food. But better use natural things to clean up the body like banana and some vegetable juices so that all the toxins get washed away from the body. You can get healthy ans shiny skin too. Its natural and safe also. Instead of vitamins and medicines.

I just hate how they lay in the tummy, yet, there is a time when I just go into the chip chomping craze. I just love to chomp on the chips. I know it is bad. However, I am now cured, because I found a better junk food. When I get the desire for the nibbles, I just take some seaweed, add garlic powder and salt and oil and cook it up. It stops the need and it's more healthy I think.

Like you do, I am also aware already about my health most especially of the food I am taking. Before, I also fond of eating fatty and salty foods but now that I notice the pimples increasing in my face and very oily I realized that it is already time to change my food intake like eating a lot of veggies and fruits.
