Hi iamagoodguy. I am very happy for you that you had a wonderful time during your vacations. 35 days is too long for a vacation I must say. Especially when I get only a weekend's break in between each term of my studies. I wish I was as lucky as you. By the way I am not aware of the spring festival that you have at China. Can you share with us the details ?? Have a nice day !! SuperShames

See my last responses above ;) Every festival in different countries is interesting to study ;) so as the spring festival in China. think about a festival celebrated by 1.4 billion people together, and the ancient ways to start the new year( of course of the ancient lunar calendar of China), you will most likely get amazed at the whole festival event ;)

Hi iamagoodguy. Well I can definitely imagine the situation as I live in India. In fact we have festivals going on throughout the year. So I am kind of used to seeing big crowds gathering to celebrate those festivals together. Have a nice day !!

yes, India has also a big population as China ^_^ and Indian traditional festivals are so attractive I love Indian movies, such as the amazing and moving , marvelous architectures, famous snakes :) , beautiful, characteristic and distinctive women, and I know IT in your country is great :) As an ancient country, India is indeed a promising nation and I have to say, I admire very much your prime minister Manmohan Singh ( or singe? or he is your president... I don't know exactly ^_^)

Hi friend, you are really a fortunate that you get spring vacation. In our country, we do not get spring vacation. In Bangladesh, we the government service holders get 30 moth annual leave and 20 days casual leave. But we rarely get these leaves because of shortage of officers and other employees. Have a very nice day.

seems not enough people in your country ?. ... it's just on the contrary in China, you know ....... ^_^ and we have the opposite problem, - overpopulation ;( I do think that working is tired sometimes, but that's where we get our career, get our life great, get ourselves self-confident, and challenge ourselves, so from another point of view, work is not something bad. nice meeting you anyway! i will maybe never met you without global net.. best wishes!

It's great to spend time with the family and loved ones, in the fast paced life we lead it's often difficult to take real time out to spend quality time with your family. 35 days sounds like a long time but I bet it went superfast, time always has a habit of going fast when you are enjoying yourself.

Hello dear friend. So how do you celebrate the Spring Festival in China ? How long does it last and what customs are there to be done during it ? I have heard about it before but I don't know exactly what it is and what it consists of.

Ha ha, it's the "New Year" of China! Usually, we translate the "new year" in English into "Yuan Dan", while translate the "spring festival" in Chinese into "new year" ;) We will say "happy new year" when celebrating the spring festival ;) For people who are not students, they have also a vocation especially for them to celebrate sprint festival with family, so you can see the importance of spring festival to Chinese. Billions of people would return home for the festival, so you can image the marvelous scenes in train stations and airports! Government would always get worried about transportation problems when the festival is approaching ... ;)

Well, 35 days holiday, are a good period of time. Now, from what I understand in your discussion, is come, the time for you to return to work. I believe that you spent a good time in China! Surely this holiday will remain in your fond memories forever. I do not work, (unfortunately!) therefore I am without money and without the possibility of being able to afford such a vacation. However, they will reach the best periods of time, even for me. At least I hope so!

I think the most important and precious thing in this festival, or even in this world, is being together with our loved people, and i indeed cherish the time with them. it seems that you are a special people, just a kind of feeling, but i guess you are also outgoing ^_^ learning to enjoy our life is maybe the most difficult thing ever, even without enough money. Power will creates happy man ;)

No, I am not Chinese and yes, I don't know what a spring festival is. Wow, that must have been a very important part of the Chinese tradition if you get to have a holiday for that long. I for of envy you. That is just enough time to do all the things I want to do with my old friends and catch up.

to meet old friends and relatives is an very important part of the spring festival actually. I met many of my classmates of Senior school, middle school and even primary school ;) also i enjoy the feeling with my loved relatives and family. We enjoy playing cards together, with old grandpa, grandma, little young brothers, parents, and coucins, good friends, and so on. It's really a great thing! A whole big family with dozens of people sit around a big, or several big tables, and eat together, deliver our best wishes to our loved ones. We feel that we are the happiest men in the world ;)

My winter holiday ended two days ago. But my classmate is still in China despite this. He was there to spend the holidays with his family too. He said he'd be back within the first week of March. Time to get to work now and start another semester, for me its my last one before I graduate.
