I have a little labrador puppy .He is 3 months old. And I have problem teaching him Not to do something. I want to teach him because he eats everything and I am afraid we will end up in the vet surgery room. The methods I use is no with a stern voice and if he doesn't listen time out for a few minutes. What do you think is there an effective way.I give rewards everytime he does somthing good.

Puppies usually don't listen. They like to play all the time. I guess what you got to do is just put away the things he's eating while telling him he must not eat it. Give him food and buy him stuff that he can play with.

If your puppies chews on certain things repeatedly, things like furniture, you may need to buy or make something to spay on the item that makes it less attractive to chew on. You can also get other things for him to chew on like rubber toys or rawhide bones or dog biscuits. I would suggest that you also run a search on the Internet. First look up Labradors so that you understand the breed better. That will tell you about the general behavior of the dog plus it will also alert you to potential medical or physical problems you encounter down the road. Purebred dogs were generally bread for certain purposes (for example herding or hunting) and that inbreeding affects their general behavior. A problem with purebred dogs, however, is that it can lead to more genetic defects than you would have with a mixed breed dog. For example, a large percentage (20-30%) of Dalmatians are deaf or have hearing problems. If you search online you can also probably find out more information on how to train the dog.

I know how you feel, I have a lab dog and she's very energetic and eats almost everything, even her toys and she ends up puking it all over the floor then won't eat for a day. But after that she gets better and starts it all over again. I've tried telling her not to do something but ends up doing it. She's very intelligent though, but now that she's in her 1 year, she's not doing it so often as before so maybe she will understand when your puppy gets older.
