Can you identify songs for your loved ones, that whenever you hear them, it reminds you of them? Well, I got one for my daughter and that is , Don’t Know Why by Nora Jones. She would always sing that in our videoke, whenever she's home for school vacation. When I hear old music from the TV program my father-in-law is watching , I really remember my father too. He always plays them in his stereo, when i was still a teener and was still with them. When I hear some Michael Learns to Rock songs, I remember my husband. What about you guys?

Whenever I listen to 'Saving all my love for you' it makes me think of someone that is very Dear to me and yet I cannot seem to have him all for myself. Then there's 'I'll make love to you' by Boys II men, it more or less makes me feel a lot of passion whenever I listen to it and just wanna actually live that moment with that special someone.

Love songs can really make us remember our special love one. But do you know that it is being made a joke tha "Saving All My Love For you" are dedicated to an "Other Woman"? Well, maybe it's really meant for those who can't have the love of their love for themselves .

You don't get it, it's a song dedicated by a mistress to her lover who is married to another woman. Try to review the lyrics, my friend to see if it really is.

Yes love songs are extra special. I did not know that it was meant for another woman the song 'Saving all my love for you'. lol But it is a great song though and I definitely do not want to dedicate it to a woman. lol

I listen to Elvis Presley most of the time when in my car. Generally on Sunday's he sings spiritual songs that remind of my grandmother. She use to sit at the piano and sing away. Both my parents were in show business and both sang. There are just too many songs to mention that remind me of both. They are both gone now but the memories linger on when I hear many of the songs they loved.

It's so wonderful to know that your family is musically inclined and good singers and at showbiz at that. Indeed, with their many songs, you will always remember them whenever they are played. They maybe gone now, but there are many songs that will always let you remember them.

I have some songs which remind ne to people i love. the first song is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. this song is the first English song can be memorized well by my daughter when she was four. i introduced some English songs to her such as Old Mc Donald had a Farm, Bingo, Alphabet Song and else but only Twinkle which could be memorized well by her. We are not English native so i was so happy when she was abld to sing that song very well. The second is Bring me to Life by Evanescence. It was my love song dedicated to my husband today when we just had a date about eight years ago. yeah i was not romantic at all cos choosing rock music to show my feeling instead of love song. lol. but i really like the lyrics and the meaning could represent my feeling that time. actually it was no advantage giving him that song cos my hubby has bad English. lol. The last is I'll be missing you by p.diddy. i dedicate that song to my mom who had passed away last year. i always cry every time i listen to the song..:(

today my daughter is enjoying The Itsy Bitsy Spider. but the lyrics are difficult for her so she just sings it like this: nanananaa spider....nananaaaa...spout...". so she's just able to pronounce the last word. lol. i have tried to teach her how to sing it correctly but still she finds difficulty in singing it. but im sure she will be able to sing English songs as many as she wishes cos she is a smart girl..:))

Yes, i also can relate to you of Twinkle Twinkle , to our daughter too when she was just a child. Just like you, we were so happy every time she would play on her own while singing that. Well, romantic or not, somehow we connect a song to our special love, even if it isn't the theme song . Sadly, though i can't remember a song i can relate to my mom, because she's not much into listening to music. But songs such as Oh My Mama, will surely bring tears to my eyes, if ever she will leave this earth already.

I lost my dad barely a year ago, March 4th to be exact. And, I am such a daddy's girl that's why I am suffering the worst, I think. Even when he was alive, my songs that reminded me of him (songs that I've actually dedicated to him) are: Greatest Fan of My Life by Edwin McCain, Wind Beneath My Wings. Of course there are his favorite - Lullaby by Dan Seals. Puff, the Magic Dragon, the song I first learned to play in the guitar because he taught me that. If We Hold on Together from the Movie Land Before Time. And now pretty much every sad song about a lost loved one. My mom, Mama by Spice Girls, of course And songs when I was young that she and my dad used to listen to. I don't know why The Great Pretender tops that list . There's this song that reminds me of my brother, and my mom because he sang that in school for her way back in Elementary (which is like 20++ years ago LOL!)that goes ... A little love, that slowly grows and grows, not one that comes and goes, that's all I ask of you. A sunny day, I look up to the sky, a hand to help my by, that's all I ask of you... All the songs that we liked together during MTV days in highschool and college remind me of that brother (we're only one year apart) and I discovered on his wedding day that my favorite song (Your Love by Alamid) is his and my sister-in-laws' "theme song". Our youngest brother, who is a real headache to the family, I think about him when I hear the song, He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother. He's into really cheesy songs, and we listen to different genres, so we don't really connect musically. LOL... Well, from my long post, you can see that I am a music lover. I'd like to share more songs but, this should be enough for now.

Wow, that was amazing gloryacam! Indeed, i can say that you are a music lover and a sentimentalist, because you connect a lot of songs to every member of the family. Me, as to my siblings, i can also remember my sister, because the Song that was played on her wedding day was "Nothing's Gonna Change My Love for You". As for me and my husband though, we don't have a theme song except that we both have our favorite songs. It is indeed a nice feeling when you hear a music and remember somebody with it. It brings you back memories of them, even when they're gone, just like your dad. I bet, you cry whenever you hear his fave songs.

Yeah, and I have songs that remind me of friends. I have songs for all the boys I've loved before. About my dad, I still cry a lot and pretty much any thing could trigger that, not just his favorite songs. I am such a drama queen. Here at the office (and even at home) my songs make up around 75% of the total memory of my computer. My friends and officemates kid me saying I am a DJ.

Whenever I hear the song "Dance with my Father". That song always reminds me of my late dad who is in heaven right now. Last time, I tried to sing it, but when the chorus comes, I couldn't sing it anymore because my tears just keep falling and I couldn't stop it :/

Actually, my husband and i are not very inclined to listening to music, now that we are always busy at our work. But on some rest days we would turn on the stereo and play some DVDs to listen to our favorite songs. Thus, those songs can make us remember each other when played in our absence. Just like you, my daughter is fond of music as well as singing. Thus i think she has lots of song to remember each of her friends and boyfriend.

I have songs that remind me of almost everyone in my life. I think that the reason that this is the case for me is because of the fact that I'm a really big music person. For my daughter, the song is In My Daughter's Eyes. My son's song is Put me in Coach. My husband's song is You're Still the One My best friend's song is Find out Who Your Friends Are And my best male friend's song is My Heart Will Go On (this is his song because when we were teenagers he would put this song on repeat and listen to it all night long.)

Indeed certain songs would make us relate them to our love ones. Specially if we hear them over and over again singing or playing them. But then there are certain songs whose lyrics are what makes you remember your love one. Wow, i must admit the song you relate to your husband is so sweet and true indeed.

Thanks for this discussion I am fond of songs from Hindi movies of 1960-1980, and devotional songs we call 'bhajan'; While hearing old songs or watching old movies i too get emotional.

"Paint It Black" by the Rolling Stones always reminds me of a friend of mine I haven't seen for some five years (she moved to another country and we didn't keep in touch). We went to a Stones concert together and that song really got stuck with her, she would sing it all the time, sometimes suddenly, loudly and in public. We used to laugh so much about it. I was so much younger then ...

Indeed some songs can get stuck into our mind in association to somebody. And just like your friend, which is your buddy in seeing the said concert, and would just sing out loud since it's her fave song, "Paint it Black" would indeed be associated with her whenever you hear it.

A lot of songs reminds me of my loved ones. Different songs, different persons I remembered. When I heard the song "Dance with my Father", I always remember my father, He's still alive but I always remember him especially when you focus on the lyrics itself. When I heard the song "Iingatan Ka", it reminds me of my mother, a story of mother and child in a song. When I heard the song "Ikaw", I remembered my boyfriend because he dedicate that song to me. :)

Indeed "Dance with mY Father" can really make us remember our father , specially when we are so close to our father. "Iingatan Ka" lyrics is indeed so touching that you can connect it to a mother. How romantic your boyfriend is to be dedicating "Ikaw" to you. It's a love song indeed filled with love.

Hi, You are absolutely right. My wife is very sensitive. She lost her mother, father and brother. She is the only member in her family. So when listen the songs about such close relations she becomes sad. But some songs are so motivating that they makes us strong and we can face life happily. Really some songs prove like medicine to us.

I and my husband have a lot of common interests and music is one of them. Although we are now into Christian music and we both enjoy playing the guitar together and finding time just jamming, I still recall and sing (on occassion) our love or theme songs - You're The Inspiration (I think Chicago sang it..oh no, I forgot already whose song this is) and I Was Born For You by David Pomeranz (again, this I am not sure anymore...what's happening to me?). Remembering these songs from time to time makes us feel we're falling in love over and over. Why is that? I suppose music will always speak to our hearts as long as the lyrics fit certain circumstances in our own personal lives.

Wow, good for you my friend, because you have some theme songs to remember each other. And it's very nice to know that that both of you enjoy Christian music and play the guitar. It's really a nice way to jam. Indeed, some love songs we could connect to our special love ones can really make us fall in love all over again just like when you were young lovers. The words and the lyrics are what makes us that.
