Well, luckily for me I do not suffer from insomnia. At night I sleep regularly. However, though I know very well a person who, for almost 40 years, does not sleep at night! What does this person during the night, when she does not sleep? I would say different things, but Facebook find the most attractive way to pass the time (she writes posts and comments). Sometimes reading or watching TV (low volume to avoid disturbing the neighbors). However, she sleeps during the day, sometimes in the morning, sometimes in the afternoon. But at night, never!

It looks more that she has adjusted her body clock than insomia.

johndur, when I was new here, I would do mylot whenever I couldn't fall asleep. It's weird that I would be more energetic the more posts I had typed. Might be coining my brain would make me refreshed. Since I noticed that the same situation happened several times I dared not login mylot anymore when having insomnia. Reading book is not my habit in the middle of night. Laying in bed I would be more sober no matter with eyes closed or open. All the foregone memories like endless movies appear in front of me. Doing simple and easy physical exercises like swinging hands or to pace backwards and forwards from sitting room to kitchen until feeling tired as well as sleepy and can't wait to lay down on bed Happy posting!

Thanks for sharing. Its true that if you do mylot you wont feel sleepy.maybe because the brain works harder than it should be.

My insomnia was problem-related. And so I just chose to remain lying down all night until I am able to catch sleep. I never really got up from the bed and do anything. I didn't feel the urge of doing more productive things coz of too much thinking.

It happens for me sometimes, to not be able to fall asleep for some hours. I stay in the bed, with closed eyes, waiting for it to happen. I start thinking and over-thinking, rememoring past and making plans for the future. It should be exhausting, but it just sends sleep away even more. Recently I discovered that audio-books make me sleep faster. So, if I see I will have one of those insomnia moments, I start listening to something. I can wait for my sleep and also hear a story.

i usually pray until i fall asleep. i also take a melatonin pill if i cannot fall asleep. these are natural so they don't hurt your body in anyway.
