No rice diet

March 1, 2013 11:00pm CST
We Filipinos are fond of eating rice. It's always on our meal whenever we eat three meals a day. I just can' control my portion no matter what I do. I have tried not eating rice for nearly three months and I saw minimal results. Actually that's fine with me for I now I never really had time to exercise. But after my cousins convinced me t eat rice again I am eating rice again after. And now I have to lose weight for dress for graduation this March, I tried not eating rice again. I was told by some friends that I should never try not to eat rice because it's bad for me. I am feeling fine, never really felt I was running out of energy. I can easily feel that I'm full whenever I eat. I never really see any problem for now. Is it that bad not to eat rice?

I come from a culture that had little rice. Instead, it was potatoes for our carbohydrates. I understand the concern for rice. I don't know if this can help, but I found this link. Maybe it can lead you to other directions: http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/the-rice-diet-solution

My daily meals consist of rice there in my whole existence in this world. I don't know if I can survive without eating rice for a long time.

No rice diet is not bad. Other cultures don't eat rice and they are still alive isn't it? For as long as you eat other food with carbohydrates you will not run out of energy even if you don't eat rice. What is bad is when you don't eat vegetables and fruits. It will really affect your health.

I think your friends assumed that there are no substitute for rice. I have lots of friends who have refrained from eating rice and preferred wheat bread as a substitute, and they're still as healthy as any rice eater.

I'll be out of energy if I don't eat rice. And I can't simply eat any viand without rice especially those saucy and meaty so I can't imagine life without rice. I think that you should also lessen the intake of fatty food. One of my colleague is dieting but he is still eating a small portion of rice and avoid fatty viands because he says you'll gain more weight eating those.

Hi, It is not difficult for me to apply no rice diet because I don't like rice. I like chapati. I eat very less rice. But in summer I like to eat rice with curd. I don't think that not eating rice is bad. My wife is the lover of rice but because I and my son don't like rice she also don't eat rice.

rice - Rice is good for health
I am from India and here also rice is unavoidable. We daily take rice two times for lunch and dinner. Now the main problem is that the price of rice is increasing at a rapid rate.

Not eating rice is not at all bad for as long as you eat other carbohydrates with every meal. Of course, eating more than what is necessary would only do you more harm than good.
