What features do you like in a Vacuum Cleaner?

I use many kinds of vacuum cleaners in my cleaning business. I prefer to use upright vacuums, and I would prefer to have the kind with bags, rather than empty the junk out myself. I definitely like it to have attachments. And I especially like the ones that have the attachment that has a small roller to use on furniture. One of my vacuums has a retractable cord. I just press a button and it pulls the cord back inside. I really like the way the Dyson Ball rolls around, but I'm not crazy about the way its attachments work. The older Hoover uprights seem to work well. Have you found a perfect vacuum that meets all of your needs?

At home we have a central vaccum system which has outlets at convinent locations all around the house. I love it for the convinence and no cords but not all of it is ideal. manuverabiltiy and tight spaces are difficult, and if i vaccum up something i want to keep then we have to go throuhg a huge trash bin of dust and crumb. When i move out i am getting a robotic vaccum that has clear holding place so i can see when it picks up valuables and coins. Also be able to set a schedule for each day like an alarm clock so i dont have a chance of stepping on it while im at home. It should have its own dock that it knows ot go back to to get charged and go from room to room effectively. this would be able to coast under the couch and be easy to get a couple extra coins from especially if it had a magnet.

I used a central vacuum and a house I used to clean. I didn't like it. I had to carry it up the steps and wrap the hose thingy all around me to be able to get all of it up the steps. I thought I was going to strangle myself and fall down the steps sometimes!

I love everything about my hoover vacuum, but I wish it would clean all by itself.

I have enjoyed both my standup push vacuum with a bag as well as a central vacuum. I honestly would prefer a central vacuum as they arent as heavy to handle and you dont have to change the plug in all the time for power as you move.

Have you ever tried using a backpack vacuum? That way all you have to hold is just the hose. Do you ever suck anything up other than just dust and dirt? Because without a beater bar it can handle anything you can imagine from socks to small toys and spare change

Haha, no, I already have to go to a chiropractor for my back. I don’t think a backpack vac would be good for me.

I like both - cylinder and upright, or as they say in some U.S countries, NZ and Aus, "canisters."
