Heard they aren't letting people take tours through the White House. It takes as much to let people through as it does for them to go on a vacation so which one do you thing they are going to give up?

I do hope Obama stops taking so many vacations because he is away from seeing what Americans are going through who are not in the elite. So they can continue the tours, but cut down on the vacations. Now if you are talking about the population either wanting to go on a vacation or take a tour, I would take the vacation. Those going through tours on political houses can be very boring.

They are showing how children are disappointed. They are probably more disappointed because they were going to get out of school for field day.

I'm sure you are right! Kids don't get excited over politics.. or history and the like.

I would have wanted the vacation. I am an adult and even for me, I would be bored going around the White House. I would have rather had a picnic and gone on a hike even though I am a city lady.

It doesn't take nearly as much to let people take tours through the White House as it does to go on one of their vacations. Obama is trying to make the sequester out to be something it isn't, and trying to demonize the Republicans over it. The stupid and sad part is that there are people who actually believe him and his staff when they come up with things like this.

It seems like they don't know how to think any more.

That is what is sad is that people will believe what is being said.

The white house is just another house if the president never lives in it.So let us enjoy the vacation and cut the curiosity to see somebody's house, even if it is the President's.

I remember going to see a great aunt and I so wanted to see the rest of the house. I am not sure why I didn't go looking as all the family were in the kitchen. I suppose I figured my mother would let me have it if I did that. When I go to some of my families homes for the first time they will give me a tour but I don't feel the necessity of doing that when they come to my house.
