This year my family has choices to be part of March for Dimes and Autism Speaks. Both are very dear and near to our hearts. We are doing March of Dimes because of my 2 year and 6 month old both were born prematurely but unlike some families mine were both born healthy and never spent a night in the NICU. I'm doing a 4 mile walk because of them and all of the other mothers and there families. March of dimes is more then just a fundraiser they work all year round for better health for women and children. Autism speaks we are also doing a 4 mile walk for my nephew. He is Autistic since he was 2 years old. He struggles very day and not many people understand him. We are walking in his name in ho,e to find better way to help families with autistic child to grow and get the help they need,

Hi friend, my son is also affected with autism. Mostly this kind of kids are not interested with the social interactions and they will do their work as per their wish, it is really hard to take care of them and we need more patience to raise an autistic kid. Good to know that you are giving more love and care to both of the kids

These are both great non-profits and I think that you are doing a great thing to participate in these two walks. You know that it is because of the March of Dimes that your children were born healthy and didn't have to spend a night in the NICU. The reason that I say this is because of the fact that The March of Dimes has financed a lot of research towards the medications that pregnant women are given to make sure that their children are born healthy. I hope you do a great job raising funds for these two wonderful charities.

I don't know if I could all of the fact that my kids weren't in the NICU was because of them. I did some work, the doctors did so,e work and of course the laws at the time. If when I had my daughter the law said babies under 35 weeks had to stay I'm the NICU till they where 35 weeks the she would have to spend a week there no matter what her condition was. I had great health care and I took very good care of myself and I didn't fallow March of Dimes till my son was born. Right now there is no safe medication that can be give to a pregnant women fore sure that will do no harm. The medication given to me to stop my labor with my son could have done serious damage to him more then help him which is why next time they are not touching me with that stuff unless they want a broken arm.

Since I have a disabled child I am very interested in other special needs children and their disability. It sad when a baby is born prematurely. It was lucky your 2 year old and 6 month old never had to spend time in the NICU. My 5 year old son stayed in a NICU for the first three weeks of his life. He had two operations: one to close the hole in his back and second to put a shunt in his head. This excellently controls his hydrocephalus. Well done for agreeing to take place with the charity runs for March of Dimes and Autism Speaks. I see that your nephew is autistic and has been since he was 2 years old. The four mile walks should be very enjoyable and rewarding. Well done.

AAAwww that is sweet of you to walk for March of Dimes and Autism. I don't think you need to have any one in your family with these problems to walk just walk because you care. I'm glad tho that you are walking for your kids and others and for your nephew. I wish more people walked and wish i could but i never know when in my area they have the walk. Tho i have given money to help these causes.

No but most people at the walk are people that has family other wise most other people don't care at all because they don't know someone that has it or Beem throw it nor have had a sick baby born early. You can look it up right now they are signing up for. march of Dimes all over the us. One for my area is in May which is the DC area. Austism speaks not till November. You just go to the originations page and you can search your areas.
