So i hear a lot of bad things about sales jobs. Like, they are very exhausting, target based which is extra stress, there is no honor in going door to door selling, there is also one evil boss who is always there to make your life hell! Having heard all these things im starting to wonder there should be a plus side to this job right? Because it can not be all bad. Anyone want to shed some light in this matter? :]

If your self esteem can handle rejection and disrespect from random strangers, then sales will be for you. To be in the sales industry, you have to be manipulative, cold, and tough. Its a very cut throat world and its stressful as hell. I experienced to be in sales at certain point in my life and I aint loving it. Its the most stressful job ever. I see a lot of big men cry while working on this industry,

I have also heard all of these things about sales jobs and I am a bit nervous because I have applied in some jobs with positions of sales representatives and the like. I don't know maybe the plus side of these jobs is that they have a high starting salary and bonus on commissions. Also there are benefits like a company car with gas allowance, phones, laptop and such which would be needed in any sales position. For transportation and communication. But still I am not so sure if I will take these jobs if I get hired.

Well, if you are ready to work super hard and have the attitude of not giving up no matter what, you might be the right person for sales. :]

I didn't even know there are still door to door salesmen. Perhaps the commission is the plus side of sales jobs.

I worked in sales but it was over the phone. I don't think I could do door-to-door. Unless you have an appointment people aren't just going to open their doors to a person coming to the door to sell you something. There are a lot of robberies that way, where the door-to-door salesperson is casing the home to see if it is worth breaking into. That kind of sales isn't done around here anymore for that exact reason.

I dont think actual sales people would have time to case a joint. Because, the amount of stress and pressure they go through, especially in corporate sales i dont think they would want to bring in any legal fuss trying to rob people. Anyways thanks for sharing.
