I notice that less Filipino singers are relying to covering songs to help their careers nowadays. Finally! The singer song writers writing their own songs and composers who make songs to help singers is what our local industry needs. I remember how few years ago most Filipino singers relies on covering songs on making albums. I think there are still some cover singers around but they were only used for soap opera theme songs. They dont really chart..

It is one way of boosting their career when people are able to hear their songs everyday from the soap operas shown in tv. One marketing strategy that give positive results all the time.

its nice though there is less of them, remember in 2004 , the top 10 "OPM" songs are all revivals. I am ashamed of that time.

if you notice most revivals now are revivals of OPM songs. not revival of foreign songs.

In my opinion, reviving songs isn't over yet. Some will try to revive songs once they remember them to be nice . However, since i think some Tagalog songs gets higher ratings now, artists are also following to make songs that could be a hit also. See, how "Adik Sa'yo" became a hit? In fact, i also like that song so much, because of its lyrics and nice tempo.

So do you mean Adik Sayo is a revival. Though i know it's not Daniel who originally sang this song. What about Pusong Bato? I sound like a teenager by liking this songs.

Adik Sa yo is an original of River Maya when their vocalist s still Bamboo, yes Bamboo use to be a member of River Maya before he have his band Bamboo. But when he left, Rico Blanco takes over and River Maya became less "masa" and more global. Pusong Bato, if I remember is released in 2003, Its a sleeper hit, you know ignored for a long time then suddenly gets viral because of some youtube video.

I don't think revival era is over already, well I can see the efforts of the recording companies... and the network like what abs cbn did. The P-Pop competition. There doing something so the revival trend will be over.

its far from over for sure but we are seeing progress now, plus majority of the OPM charts are originals which is a good thing.
