I Hate When They Cancelled It :( / myLot

hi mylotters, I hate this feelings I planned to go to Baguio this coming Holy Week Mom agreed to me that we are going there I planned everything and really excited about it but yesterday she said we can't go because it's a Holy Week some people believe that during Lenten Season we must not eat meat or we must not travel cause something bad might happened to us this is a belief and I understand that but my point is we already talked about it but my cousins told her that traveling during Lenten is not really a good idea GOSH most people grab this holiday to take a break, pause for awhile, spend time with their family then why not us?

I am really disappointed that we are not going to pursued our plans because of their belief

not a good start of weekend for me. Just venting out have a great weekend everyone happy mylotting

I dont believe on its saying that it is risk or bad to travel on holly week? I dont think its true but I only know that they say its only for good friday not in whole week. besides many people travel and go to their province in holly week season.. you said during lenten season we must not eat meat. they have different opinion for their belief as they say if you go attend in mass on holy Wednesday you need to experience its suffer by not eating meat continuously for forty days. I strongly believe on it.

That happened to me a couple of times now. Because of the elder's belief or superstitions, we have to postpone one trip on our vacation. For example, we were in Paracale, Camarines Norte. We were about to take a boat ride to the well known Calaguas Islands when some aunties of our host stopped us from doing so because for them it is not safe to travel on a Good Friday. They say many accidents happen during that day. One more example is when we were in Laoag. We were supposed to go to Pagudpud when the mother of our friend called and said cancel our plans because it is not safe to go there at that time.

hi doggy, This belief really ruined plans I understand and respect it but this is the holiday that most people have a chance to take a break

I feel sorry for you that the trip is cancelled due to it being Lenten Season. You are not meant to travel or it could be an unlucky journey. Many people take a holiday time like that in order to travel with family members and have a great time. Maybe you can travel at a different time. Like I avoided the Easter holidays because my mom has a mile stone birthday and the weather is not likely to be warm enough at that time of the year. I selected the half term school holiday in May and a limited amount of term time. In 2005 I was annoyed my flight to Mexico was cancelled due to a hurricane. I went to the Maldives instead to make up for my loss.

That's too bad :( How about going on that trip with friends or other relatives? Or maybe by yourself? I don't know why they say bad things happen during Holy Week but I think it's a good opportunity to meditate and reflect especially in a place like Baguio where it's like a solemn place (unless you go to bars etc). Maybe you can still convince them, Holy Week's still next next week right. Have a good day :)

I am so sorry your trip got cancelled, I hope that you will be able, to do something for your holiday since you can't travel for the holiday, I know this really up sets you, because you had your heart set on, going out of town for that day.

Probably you are not that disappointed at all otherwise you would not let anyone spoil your trip and go alone. Alone? Yes alone, that is what is travelling about, making new (life) experiences, enjoying meeting new people, new circumstances. No journey/travel can be booked 100% in advance, it's impossible to plan every minute or do it exactly the way you have in mind. It's about begin flexible, creative and enjoying that! I wish you a great journey.

Well it's same with me here, but it's not about trip to another city. it is same because our plan have to be cancelled when we already get excited on the plan. It sucks when we have to cancel the plan but may be someday we can make it more exciting.
