I am absent from all my online programs today because I left the house early morning at 3am and I need to travel 4 hours to reached the place where the interview being held. I arrive at 7am. The person called me that the interview will start at 8am. I was disappointed when I saw the poster on their office that their office hours start at 9am. I waited for 2 hours before the foreigner employer arrive. I was selected for the job offer but the problem we didn't agreed the salary offer. I refuse the job and go home. I waste my time spending with them. Though I learn something about the job interview specially the interviewer.

Well, acceptable but I am not single now that I am disparate to accept that amount without thinking the welfare of my family. Besides, it's a work abroad not a local one

It also happened to me last time. I went to manila to attend for the interview, but i guess the offer is not the amount I expected. Hello, it is going abroad, you will be alone and you will miss your family. and then they will offer me only an amount that i think I can also earn locally if i just apply in manila. My Gosh.. It is really a waste of time.

I remember the last time I was being interviewed was four years ago. lol. I do not know if I have still that confidence to attend those interviews. Sometimes, I am thinking that what if I'll attend one job interview for me to assess if I have still that confidence or not. lol. I'm still enjoying my work.

Wow, that just sucks, and it was a four hour trip too. And you had to wake up so early. At least you didnt have to work for people like that who dont treat you properly by telling you the right time they open. And besides a job like that where in you'd have to put in all those effort especially in waking up, i dont think I'll enjoy it

I am sorry to hear that. But it seems the working place is far away from your home. So it is reasonable that you will take the job if it has a nice salary and other conditions. Otherwise it really wastes the time on the way. Perhaps you even can't go home everyday. So it is quite fair you ask for a reasonable treatment.

Yeah it's very far from our place the interview was held. I think it's normal to undergo different challenges while you are still applicants

Well, we just don;t get that lucky all the time. I guess that we should really be thinking real hard if what we are suppose to get is worth the time and effort we provide for a job. I mean, we might be working our butts out everytime, but if we are not well compensated for it, I don;t think one would ever be as productive. If I may ask, what kind of job did you apply for?

It's hard if you think for the time wasted. Just don't think so much of it, it will just add some stress to you. Maybe next time that you find another opportunity both your employer and you will already agree to all the terms.

i keep thinking you also live in metro manila so i was puzzled why you had to travel 4 hours to the venue. my bad! i think they want to make sure all candidates are around (also because of filipino time) so that when the employer arrives, the interviews can proceed one after the other. how does one qualify to be a housekeeping supervisor? do you need previous experience working in our hotels or resorts? do you have to enroll in tesda training? what does a housekeeping supervisor do? is 600 dollars the minimum? i hope they will call you again and offer a bigger salary. i'm glad you were able to interact with other applicants. you can share your knowledge at the same time get tips or leads about other openings.

Being a housekeeping supervisor is not an easy job. Especially abroad, you will encounter different kind of nationalities and of course different kinds of attitude. I been in the Middle East working in a 5 star hotel so I know what will be my life there. I don't want to compromise myself in a low salary company I live here in one province of davao

Well, sorry to hear it did not work out the way you wanted. But sometimes thats life. Its important that you learn the lessons from things and move on.And good thing is you did that as well.Becuase most of them get sank into the loss and think of failures more than ways to succeed.I know it would have been waster of time.I have been into like those ones a dozen times. These days i do not take them personally and just forget the whole event once the day is over.It helps me to focus on the other things in life and job hunt as well.I had though one suggestion to share with you.You could have accepted the offer from the foreign employer. In case you are unemployed, you have one paying job.In case not, you could have taken the offer and tried for other jobs and bargained them with this offer and taken perhaps a better job and a better salary. But of course, it does not make sense if the salary offered was too low by industry standards. There are people who join with such offers but keep on trying other jobs and work till they get one good job.It sort of helps the finance and money cash flow.Well, good luck with your job hunt.My best wishes for a great job and a great salary. Thanks!

I'm not desperate at the moment I will accept the salary they offer me, I know some people might accept it because it's okay with them but I know already the country where I will be assigned. It's be hard and boring, and then you will received salary that you will not enjoy. I will continue hunting any job although still I can manage my financial status despite of no job at the moment. I am running my small business which can cover our daily needs

HI! Julyteen, I am so excited to see your topic of this discussion. I am hunting a job now too, I really really want to get rid of my boring low salary job! I have hunt for 3 months now, but I still have no satisfied job offer which makes me very very desperated. I had job 3 interviews, but fail... I am very anxious and even don't know how to do. Maybe we can share the interview experiences and job experience each other. I wish both of us can hunt for a good job at once!
