My mother-in-law, my sister-in-law and her boyfriend are going to Turkey next week. They plan on spending a quiet holiday in Turkey without too many activities, and they really look forward to spending some time at the place where the weather is more pleasant than the Danish "spring" (March is supposed to be the first spring month but the snow has returned) They don't plan on visiting any large cities like Istanbul or Ankara, they just want to relax and enjoy the time in a country with a more pleasant climate. I have never been to Turkey, but if I get the chance to go there I would like to visit both Istanbul and Ankara, but I am specially interested in Istanbul. I would like to visit Hagia Sophia, Topkapi palace and the blue mosque. Have you been to Turkey? What did you think about the country? Which places did you visit? Would you like to visit Turkey in the future?

You are lucky to be able to travel to other countries. For me, it is not possible since foing abroad really costs a lot. We won't be able to save for that.

Unfortunately travelling is expensive. At the moment we don't have any money to spend on travelling. My husband's family asked us if we wanted to join them when they visit Turkey, but we can't afford it since we spent our savings on the trip to Asia last year. This summer I am going to take an extra job. I am willing to work 7 days a week again if that will give me the chance to travel again

I have never travelled far at my own expense. A foreign county I visited some years ago was England. That was my tour of duty abroad. It seems my salary won't be enough for traveling.

I would love to visit Turkey as my nephew has a vacation home there. My sisters went there and had a marvellous time as it was so relaxing. I have no plans to visit in the near future at all but would love to go there one day

That sounds great. I hope that you will get the chance to visit Turkey one day. I have never been there, but one of my friends went there some years ago and he has told me about his trip. He had a very good time there and he would like to return to Turkey in the future. My husband's family are going to visit Turkey next week, and it will be interesting to hear about their trip when they return.

I visited Turkey with my ex-boyfriend in December 2003 and January 2004. You see we went there after Christmas to celebrate New Year. We loved seeing the grand looking city of Istanbul with the Blue Mosque. We took an overnight train for an incredibly cheap price to Denizu and then a bus to a place called Pemukkale with white terraces and a thermal swimming pool on the top of the hill side. Then we went to Fethiye on the beautiful coast line. We took a look at gorgeous Olu Deniz but the weather there was very chilly at that time of the year. Staying close to a mosque it can be loud especially at dawn. I loved visiting exotic Turkey. I hope your relatives will have a wonderful time there next week.

That sounds like a great way to celebrate New Year's Eve It was interesting to heat about the places that you visited in Turkey because I would also like to visit Turkey one day. Pemukkale sounds like a lovely place. I haven't decided which places I would like to visit in Turkey. Istanbul is one of the places that I would definately include in the itinerary, but I am sure that there are many other interesting places to visit and I look forward to hearing about my relatives trips when they return.

I would love to visit Turkey. The nearest to Turkey culture that I have experienced are nearby countries like Bahrain, Jordan, Egypt, Malaga and Granada. I just wonder is it safe to travel to Turkey. I heard there are some unrest many months back. I really need some where to run and hide, to rest and relax and ponder what lives I have been through. I need some soul searching and claim back my happiness that seems had slip away silently!

I also think that Turkey would be an interesting place to visit, iand it is one of the countries in my travel wish list. I think that some parts of Turkey are safe, but I read that it is best to stay away from the area around the border between Syria and Turkey and the border between Iraq and Turkey. There are warnings about the Eastern part of Turkey around the borders, but my husband's family are not going to visit that part of Turkey so I think that they will be safe. I look forward to hearing about their trip when they return. I hope that you and I will both get the chance to visit Turkey in the future

I think that Turkey is a great to visit if we are interested history because there are many historical places where we can learn more about the past. I visited a website about Turkey when I heard that my husband's family was going to spend their holiday in Turkey. I had heard about some of the places before, but there were also a lot of historical places that I had never heard about. I have never been to Turkey, but I think that the climate is much more pleasant than the climate in my own country and I am sure that my husband's family is going to enjoy their time there.
