Has anyone ever read any of those books about being childless and satisfied. I am going to take the plunge and buy one of those books. I hope to get it at a discount. My book fund is running low. Maybe I could write such a book. I think women like me are in need of support. I think there are a lot of women who need to find others to relate to on this. Feelings that are hidden can be discussed in a private fashion. I would like to read about the feelings of discrimination and disrespect that can be encountered when some women have a certain lifestyle such as this.

I don't have any kids, made that choice permanent by tubal ligation when I was in my 20s. Not all of us have the maternal instinct. To tell you the truth, I have never felt discriminated against or disrespected. My choice. My life. I don't really care what anyone else thinks about it.

I appreciate your comment LaDeBoheme. I would like to be able to have a discussion about this from time to time, read a book about the subject, enjoy my lifestyle, and share the enjoyment.

Believe it or not, I have met quite a few women who feel this way. I get asked if I have any kids and I tell them, "No, never wanted any." Often when I tell them I made that choice permanent, they will say, "Oh my god, that's just what I want to do!" Although there are women who feel their lives will not be complete without children, count me... and a whole lotta others... on the other side. I have never regretted my decision nor looked back.

It is good to know that we can be counted. Sometimes it seems like we are few and far between, but we are just living our lives like everyone else, and we deserve respect for our decision.
