who has the best friends ever. I do! I would win!
Many of you have heard me tell about some of the things I do with friends. But what is more important is how they are near me all the time, for laughs and to hug when in pain. My best friend (I consider her my adopted sister), a nurse, never went out of town all the while I was on chemo, "just in case". She took me to half of my chemos, across a big city and to do that and still go to her work, she had to get up at midnight and change shifts with other people. They were the friends with whom I went to Kunayala, Panama, aboard their yatch. And now that this d***ed cancer is on remission, they think it`s time to take me for another trip. Aren`t they awesome? I always wonder how a person can be so lucky as I am. Anyone on mylot with a similar story? I promise I won`t bet money

U are very blessed to have a friend like that. I'm so glad u do.It is hard to make new friends especially when u don't get out & about anymore than i do.I have good friends but i don't think any of them would do what yours has done for u. U go & have a big ol' time.

You are indeed lucky to have found a friend like her. And I think that friends who treat one another that way could probably be soul mates. I wish I was also in a situation wherein I could be with them not only during good times, but also when things might be rough. But since, we are far apart, phonecalls, and text messages will do for us.

Not all our friends live near us. But if they are good, they can help even when they are not around. I have met a couple of people here at mylot that have been very important for me specially during the time of my chemotheraphy. I don`t know them and they are only users names. Yet I know a lot about them and feel they are friends.

I answered a post yesterday or today about life and money. For me, this is much more important. I know that with my friends I will never be hundry. And as long as I have a piece of bread at home, they won`t be hungry either. It`s better than riches that can disappear.

I really don't know that I have a similar story that I'm able to share with you. I mean the thing that I think makes my best friends the best friends that I could have is the fact that they are always there for me when I need to talk to someone. It is the feeling of knowing that you have a friend that will listen to you complain and just listen when that is what you need in your life is one of the things that I really think defines a great friend.

That is very important, doraann. Specially now that you have had more than yout share of problems. It`s so nice to have a friend that will listen and cuddle and will not judge you for your errors.

I wouldn`t say that I am exceptional in any way, but I am a warm person by nature. And I love to do little things for the people I love.

oh friend, somebody like that is more than a best friend, in fact the best word to describe them is no longer friend but family ( sometimes better cause sometimes family let us down), keep them and treasure them forever

I am very glad that you, too, have friends as I have. I feel lucky and blessed. And you are right: sometimes these friends are closer than some family members who are less generous when generosity is needed.

Oh you are so lucky to have even just her for a friend. I would rather have one like her than a lot of friends whom I cannot even depend on during the times that I need some support. She sure beats having 10 or more friends who will not even be with you for anything.
I do not have that many friends, I do know a lot of people though. I am only good friends with a very select few. But I am fine with that. They are really true and I am the same with them.

I have some people around me that in my inner self I call acquaintances. But real friends are something else. As I said, my friends are there for me and I`m there for them. WE are so close that we don`t have to tell each other how close we are.

I totally agree with you. It is easy to find friends when you are health, happy and have money. At hard times you know who are your real friends.
