I will not trade my morning cuppa for anything in the world. It sets my pace for the day that follows. We have always paid a lot of importance to this 'life giver'. Combing the market for the best brand. We no longer get our favourite 'Lopchu' that is grown in Darjeeling I think in the Happy Valley. It has a Lychee flavour and is whole leaf. Today we have settled for the Taj Mahal brand. I like only the pure flavour of tea unlike what is now marketed with a combination of different flavours. Let's talk about tea that brings happy thoughts.

hi allknowing oh my my need is for a cuppa of coffee and here in GoldCrest Retirement center the kitchen staff does make a great cup of coffee even if they do take a bit of time to get coffee to us residents in the wee hour of 7 a,m, It is well worth waiting for as it tastes so good. I know a lot of people use tea but me I am a coffee drinker for sure. When I do drink tea I also want the pure flavors of tea like Darjeeling or Earl Grey.I like several different varieties of tea and often settle for Earl Grey.

We had gone to Darjeeling on a holiday a few years ago and there we visited tea plantations and also shops where they sold tea. We got introduced to the Lopchu brand which has an out of the world flavour. We managed to get it later for a few years but then it vanished from the market. Many prefer coffee. As a kid I used to drink coffee but when I was under homoeopathy treatment coffee was a no no. It got stuck. I do keep coffee sachets in stock just for guests.

I am in your club allknowing! I used to take only coffee when I was young and even till I was thirty plus ;but after 1990 or so, I took some homeopathy treatment and switched over to morning tea.Still I do have the second dose of coffee in the morning or on the whimsical moment but my staple one is tea.

Morning tea is a ritual for me ; once I sit with my large cup of tea[ there is one exceptional steel tumbler used for this, a special one given by my friend and named after her ]I will not get up for about ten to fifteen minutes. I must enjoy it slowly sip after sip and since I prefer my tea hot right till the last drop, I will make sure it is boiling hot .I like my tea to be slightly strong and use Society Tea available in Mumbai. I have tested many and have settled down with this. Earlier I used to have TajMahal but after having this Society tea I prefer this because I have my tea with a large piece of crushed ginger and TAJ is better when plain. I am used to ginger tea and I keep a regular stock of ginger at home. But I do not choose to buy the different flavors available in the market. I like it plain with my own optional flavor in it. Even when I used to have TAJMAHAL I liked to mix a bit of dust tea to get it strong.

Many like to add ginger in their tea so also lemon grass. I had a bush of lemon grass in my house but one of my gardeners destroyed it with his carelessness. When I was executing landscaped gardens it normally used to be at sites that were under construction and so there used to be tea vendors in the vicinity. I had no choice but to go for it. That had its own flavour. The size was so small that with one gulp I would finish it but in the scorching sun it served the purpose.

A cup that cheers surely. So rather than raise our glasses let's raise our cups and say 'cheers'
