Just finished watching the Hostel Trilogy

I just finished with this, and am using several forums to find more films. I really love horror films, but am tired of the same old rehash. I enjoyed the Hostel films. They were unique and I've watched them several times over already. But I need something new, fresh. Not the date of the film, it can be an older movie, just a horror film that has a twist, a surprise. When New Line brought Freddy to us, that was new and unique. I'm looking along those lines. If anyone has any suggestions for unique and fresh horror films, please let me know :)

Some of the similar movies to Hostel are Last House on the Left(the remake released in 2009) ,Devils's rejects,Final Destination series,Saw series,Vacancy,Rec and House of Wax .Amongst these House of Wax is not so highly rated which i cant understand why, but overall its a nice one.My personal favorite is [Rec] released in 2007,its a Spanish movie ,not from Hollywood but surely a treat to watch for horror movie fans.

I am sure you will love [Rec] too, very gripping story and some nice twists. It has a Hollywood remake too but that is not so good.Original is much better.

Oh I have to check out the Last House on the left. I really liked Devil's Rejects and Final Destination. I liked the House of Wax, both the vincent price version as well as the version in the 1980's. I think there is another, and you could be speaking on that, I am not familiar with that.

Thanks so much! Yes, so much gore, but it was done in such a way that was fascinating, the story was interesting. There is a cool Korean film, called "One Million" and it's on youtube.com. Nice film for a little scare with a twist ending. You have a blessed day now.

I love horror movies two. I think there are more than 3 Hostel movies. I've seen them all a couple of times. Have you watched the Parnormal Activity movies? I think there are 4 of them and since most horror movies don't scare me these movies did! Great movies!

You just need to watch the first Paranormal Activity. If you see one, you've seen them all.

If you liked Hostel you might enjoy Martyrs, Wolf Creek, Haute Tension, Funny Games and Frontier(s). If you're looking for something original watch the original Wicker Man or Let The Right One in. Here are some other good horror movies from top of my head that are not that well known: Rec, The Descent, The Changeling, Martin, Suspiria, 28 Days Later and Troll 2.

Thanks so much for these. I have not seen these, I appreciate your taking the time to recommend those titles for me. I loved Suspiria and 28 days later! But I have to say, these are new to me, so I am excited to read them!

The Hostel series is just awesome. I have watched them several times and each time I enjoyed it. Although I don't watch that many movies now, I lately have started to watch old movies trying to relive and enjoy the old days of Hollywood.

Yes, the hostel films were very very well done. I know what you mean by the old films of Hollywood. Some really good ones are "Scarlett Street" and "The Big Knife". Really good ones. Not horror, but more Noir. In Scarlett Street we get to see Edward G Robinson in an apron washing dishes, not a big thing nowadays, but this was the 1940s and he always played a gangster. Thanks for the reply!

I heard of this movie but I never tried to watch it. I don't really like horror movies that much, so no wonder. Right now, I have over 150 movies in my computer but I don' feel like watching them. I'm waiting for the Game Of Thrones Season 3 but I think I'm gonna wait for a longer time.

Game of Thrones? I have to check that out as well. I have friends who watch that, so I'll have to see how I like it. It's cool if you do not like Horror films, many do not. I try to watch comedies, but it just does not work usually. Some are really good, Love Ace Ventura, Jim Carrey is really good. But on the whole, I do not get into comedy or drama. Chick flicks OMG NO WAY! For me, chick flicks are the real horror of hollywood. Thanks, have a cool day!

Well, the Hostel Trilogy isn't really a horror film, it is more of a gore film.. It is quite hard to suggest really unique films since a lot of films take from other films. But cabin in The Woods really surprised me, it had a good twist. And Hill Have Eyes (remake) was good too- good acting. And Stoker is a film about a family with 2 psychopaths.. The Uninvited(2011) had a good twist too.
