The "Tonight Show"

So there's rumors going around that Jimmy Fallon might be replacing Jay Leno for hosting the " Tonight Show?" www.celebs.com/archives/jimmy-fallon-might-be-taking-jay-lenos-place-on-tonight-show.html Is Jay Leno getting too old to bring in a crowd to watch the "Tonight Show?" Wasn't that the reason why Johnny Carson was replaced by Jay Leno? Glad I'm not an actress, I'm getting too old and could be replaced!! Look at the "Golden Girls" Betty White ,she's still alive and kicking!

It's her attitude that keeps her in the swing of things...not many her age are capable of having that much energy! I don't want the tonight show as I go to bed early for a 4 am wake up time each day.

I couldn't agree with you more. Don't get more wrong I liked Jimmy Fallon back when he was a comedian/actor but as far as a late night talk show host? No way. I don't find him funny at all. In fact I think most of the things he does on his show are rather stupid. I like Jay Leno & I seriously hope that this is just a rumor because if it's not then I guess I will just stop watching the Tonight Show then.

He's actually got the highest ratings of any current talk show host in late night. They are winning the ratings war. But they are afraid Jimmy Kimmel will start to get more popular. It's pretty bad how they handled it. Jay was number one, and they promised the job to Conan, so they kicked Jay out. Then Conan's ratings were not that good, so they asked Jay back and got rid of Conan. Now they are worried again and want to get rid of Jay and promote Jimmy Fallon. I love Jimmy Fallon. But I like Jay Leno better for The Tonight Show right now. Jimmy Kimmel and David Letterman are so snide and they mock their guests which I don't enjoy.

I keep hearing the rumors and I don't know what to believe. I remember a few years ago Jay wanted and tried prime time and gave the Tonight Show to Conan O'Brian.Only to turn the tables on Conan when the prime time show went under and Jay wanted his old show back! So who knows what is going on and what will happen. I think it is pretty stupid story to begin with.

Yes, and she is doing great! Maybe Jay Leno wants out. I don't particular like Jay Leno so to see Jimmy Fallon taking over that would be great. I don't watch it now but I probably would watch it if Jimmy was replacing him. I miss Johnny Carson so much he was the best of them all. Not one of the late talk show host could ever replace Johnny Carson in my opinion.

I always saw The Tonight Show and the one with Letterman were pretty much the same thing until Jimmy Fallon came along with his show. To me, his show is way more funny and it would be a good thing for him to replace Leno as long as he takes The Roots with him..

Jay appeals to an older demographic. That demographic will eventually die off, sad to say. Jimmy appeals to a younger crowd, the people who will be moving our economy forward (or least we hope they will!) in the coming years. I believe that Johnny Carson decided to retire. Dave Letterman used to be at NBC too, but when they decided to make Jay the host, he jumped ship and got his own show at CBS. As for Betty White, she is timeless. I'm so glad that somebody decided to take a chance on her again after seeing her in the Super Bowl Snickers commercial!

I think I saw that in this morning's paper, but since I don't care, I didn't bother reading the article. I don't even know who Fallon is.

I think it is hard to hold a crowd when you're doing it alone. The show's format should be changed, like have a co-host for Jay Leno, etc. It is not about age because Jay Leno can still do it. The only thing is, he needs a co-host to perk up the show.

Isn't it awful that there is so much age discrimination. Look how all the actors and actresses have cosmetic surgery.

yes, I read the same here. Seems jay is already tired of his 2nd run on the tonight show. I thinks its good, I never liked him.
