I see that even a small kid in USA, UK and so, speak English very fluently. I wonder if I live in USA then my English will become excellent. Or not? I can't say those people of USA are literate or not. I can't say whether they are well Educated or not but as far as I know their English are excellent, and even I can't understand their English because of fluency in movies, shows and etc..... Are they Educated? If yes then they need not to worry about getting a good job..I guess.

If you live in Chinese, will your Chinese become excellent AUTOMATICALLY? You can fill in any language for that matter, but the sure answer is no. If you want to improve your command of English, you will need to be immersed into the culture and the society. Just being there won't help. It is as good as saying if you live with a pack of wolves, you will automatically learn wolf-language? Living in a particular place is a good first step because you can get yourself involved. Everywhere you go, you are "forced" to use the language, and through practice you should improve your SPOKEN language. Good luck in embracing the language. Hey, consider living in China and learn Mandarin as well.

Haha... But I live in India, Nagaland, and here no one speak English with me. There is no way through which I could communicate with others with English. But am learning grammar, memorizing Dictionary words, and coaching myself to improve myself. I was just wondering whether people living in UK need Education or not. Because English is their MT. Thanks for response.

English is the mother tongue of the people of the USA and UK. So they can speak English fluently like you speaking fluently in your mother tongue. So it is nothing special for them. It does not mean that they are all literate. If you live in USA, your vocabulary must improve and in this way your command over the language will also improve.

I agree English is their mother tongue. I was confused whether these people need education or not..because we go to school to learn English, so that We can properly write better English. For them it is very easy apart from Hindi.

English is hard to learn. We have so many words that sound the same and mean different things and so on. You will be able to understand more if you come here, but I would really take a class on it though. Here we have so much slang and then the proper way to say things, but again many words that will confuse you. Good Luck!

Yes you're right but my friend use to tell me.... English is not a knowledge but a language... But I find very difficult to speak good. Better English is Simple English as per their expectations.

You will hear them speak the language but I am not sure about their grammar. A school is the only place where you can pick up perfect grammar.

This is very true my friend. I don't go to school, I left my studies in the past 2008. Now I am trying to learn how to write English gramatically.

It's just natural for them to speak English because it's their mother tongue they had been used to while growing up. Same with the dialect we were born unless if our parents forced us to speak English or better yet enrolled us to an English speaking school. Yes, American and English people are good, it's because it's their way of communicating with each other but some of them speaks words in a slang way and maybe some are not grammatically correct. Yes, you could learn English if you live in their country, but to do that you must interact with them, converse with them so that you can easily adapt and learn how to speak English faster.

Yes, interacting or having conversation with English speaking people is one way to learn the language more quickly. Another is by enrolling in a speech clinic so that you may learn the correct pronunciation of words same with the grammar composition.

hi, admin1993. english is a language and like any other language it has rules on grammer, spelling, puctuations, etc... being a native speaker doesn't necessarily mean being able to read, write, and speak the language perfectly. those who are educated can have an excellent command while those others may have not. getting a good job is not dependent on one's fluency on the english language, it is on how good you are at doing the job that you're going to undertake.

Oh thanks for the helpful response. I agree and accepted your response. You're correct that if one take up the job and can't preform what the clients or boos want him/her to do then it might cause both problem. I am building my vocubalary gradually.

I personally don't think so, as I have seen and met people who are not from native English speaking countries but when you talk with them you will be amazed. So all comes down to what you can do yourself. If you do try yourself to improve then no one and no country can help you do that. If you want to really improve your English then learn new words, talk with people, read books.

I agree with your response. And yes I will have to learn new words daily. At-least 2000 Dictionary meanings to better my English.

You don't have to stay in America to learn and spell English fluently. Of course, staying in an English speaking place would give you more opportunity to use that language. However, you have to factor in things like a local lingo where it will usually be used in a conversation and they might not be "proper" english.

Oh thanks for the information and tips. There is a lot many more for me to become a native English writer and speaker.

They speak English well because English is their mother tongue. Living in USA or uk is just a chance for u to have English conversation daily, but your English is better or not, it depends on you. When I went to Korea, my English was poor, but after a while I could speak English well because English is the official language in my lab. Beside, I am good in memorizing new words, reading, listening, speaking English daily...our English can't be better automaticly, we have to practice everyday...even though we are living in USA or uk since English is not our mother tongue.

I think a lot of words and its usages that are occurring in our surroundings/day to day life are stored in our unconscious mind. Such words may be used even in dreams while sleeping. So naturally we become fluent with that words and usages. It is same in the matter of any language in any area. This wouldn't be sufficient to be with better knowledge in usage of grammar, vocabulary etc of that language.

People living in the US, UK, or other 'English' countries are not necessarily fluent in speaking English language. Studies proved that a lot of grammatical errors are being seen in Americans and other English-speaking countries. Of course most of them are better compared to Non-English speakers, but not all of them. Living in the US may have an effect on you and can help improve your English speaking skills but you actually don't need to go there. You can learn it regardless of what country are you in provided you have access to the necessary materials needed for studying. Educated? Hmmm...

those who live in US and other english country are good in english because its their mother tongue.. ever since the world begun for them its the way they talked so nonetheless they don't have any problem in understanding and speaking the english language but don't lose hope because everything can be learned..

its not about living in a particular place that makes you fluent in a language...its about how often you use it...many people here are extremely good in communicating in english...and they didnt even had to go to the US or other countries for learning english...the more you practice something...the more you get better in it...that's the principle behind it...nobody has.to go to japan to study karate right...and people in US are born and brought up there....so obviously they get good in english because its their language just in the way how good you are in speaking your own language....and being educated or not depends whether they go to.college or higher studies...but a good educational qualification along with english fluency is very good for getting good jobs as english is an international language...

English is the mother tongue for most of the US and UK people, so there is no wonder in their english fluency. As we know our mother tongue very well than any other languages. If you born in us and your mother tongue is English surely your English will be great. Don't worry you can improve your language with your practise and your English will be fluent with your practise. All the best.

No, not all of them got a higher education but what made them special is the very basic foundation of their nation as a whole. the foundation of their is good enough for them to act as who they are but speaking English is a matter of training specially knowing the right accent in pronouncing the words. If you will stay in the US you can improve your English but not a guarantee for a correct grammar that is if you speak the language as often as you can on any discussion.

i don't think so, but for some reason it is great to be surround by people who can talk the language fluently as your ear listen listen listen and take it into your mind, automatically you can too talk like that but i am saying it take time too ok, never too rush as it will spoil your learning ability as you can get frust saying why i can be like that.

Yeah... I agree that it is better to get surrounded by English native speakers to become fleunt in speaking English. Unfortunately I have no one to communicate in English with others. I have but in Facebook. I dislike those short chats.

well, I think so. I have seen those who live in English spoken country, that talk in English much better than those who learn in Asian countries. pronounciation is really different when we live in English spoken countries. it really effects on the way of how to pronounce words.
