When you buy new clothes, usually it will attach one or two spare buttons. How do you deal with these spare buttons? Usually I will just keep them on the clothes rather than taking them out of the clothes. Since I am afraid I will lose them later. It is better for them to be attached to the clothes.

I put them in my sewing basket and then if I need an extra button I have one handy. I tried keeping them on the clothes, but it was a pain for me. I have a collection of buttons and it keeps on growing. Pretty soon I will have to buy another sewing basket to keep more things in.

It depends how they are attached to the clothing. If the button is sewn onto the clothing I won't usually go to the trouble of removing it especially as it's usually in a place that your're not really going to notice.I think this is a good thing as when you need a spare button you always know where it is as it's with the piece of clothing. If it's on the price tag or in a little bag I usually end up not being able to find it when I need it.

I am afraid the spare buttons will get lost so that I just keep them attached to the clothes.

I think it's safer to leave them on the clothes, that way they won't get lost and you know exactly which garment the button belongs to, usually they are stuck on where they are not noticed and don't rub against your skin.

If the button is sewn on the clothes, like on the inside of the front, I leave them. Many are in small plastic bags, though so I leave them in their bags and keep the various bags all together so I do not lose them.

I keep all extra buttons in a button jar. I don't like wearing extra buttons on my clothing If you take them off and put them in a special jar for only buttons you will not lose them.

I throw them inside the first drawer of my bedside table. That drawer has a lot of important things and it is the only place where they will not get lost.

If the spare buttons are sewn in securely on the inside bottom of a shirt, for example, then I'd just leave them there. But if they were just wrapped in a small paper bag like the ones shown on your attached photo, then I'd take them off the clothes and keep them together with all my other sewing kits. Some clothing are using unique buttons, those are the ones I'd really like to keep in case I need them as replacement when I lost the ones currently attached to the clothes.

If the spare button is sewed and attached tightly to the clothing, like in the tag and it doesn't bother me whenever I'm wearing it, then I just let it there. I am more likely to lose it if I will take it off and put it in our sewing box. If the spare buttons are not sewed into the clothing, like it is really separate, then I will most likely lose it or trash it.
