It is a new way after the youth hostels.I believe it is a little taking risks but better and exciting way to get to know more about local place.Have you tried before and do you have any interest in it?Have a great trip,dear mylotters.

Well of course that is a risky one but an adventurous and an exciting one as well. I think as u have mentioned it will not only help u get to know about a local place but also would get u aware of its aquatic life also. I have never tried it as i do not know how to swim but very sooner or later i would like to surf underwater.

I have a friend and she went to spain and found a couch owner and she had great time there and the guy offered she lot of info.So this can be cool and exciting way to also enjoy life.Why not give i a shot?lol.Just make it happen and good for you.

I joined couch surfing a year ago. It is a great way to travel and meet new friends. Just to lessen the risk of having a disastrous trip, try knowing your host ahead of time... In that way, you can tell if he or she can be trusted. Based on my experience, my previous hosts were great. It made my trip to Indonesia and Brunei memorable.
