Rapes, Murders, Robbery, corruption and Indian society all belong to same group?

Hi Friends, I've come across so many discussions on myLot explaining worries and wondering on why there are so many different types of violence happening in India in recent times and why India is not safe anymore? After the unfortunate bus incident in Delhi last December, we've seen a different chapter of Indian society, till then, wrong things were there in our country but no one was pointing to those wrong things, however, now media shows a little bit of that to the common people and now most of us are worried about that. All of us want the culprits to be punished in these kind of cases and that's right. However, what do you think is the root cause of such issues? Here is what I think, Media is the main culprit, dishing obscene content in all formats only for earning more money. No matter which religion you follow, there will be at least one incident where a god might have mistaken with some women related to S**. At least in Hindu I know there are a few of the examples. So how do you expect in a country of more than 1 billion population, everyone to just ignore these obscene contents of media and ignore it? There are bound to be a few people who will fail to control themselves and they do such type of crimes, no doubt they should be punished for their wrong doings, however, wouldn't it be better if we make sure that we have a more responsible media that can change the mindset of the common people and this kind of wrong doings can be avoided ?

Hello Dollar, Being in Delhi I know horrible that incident was and there had been lot more incidents like this which Delhi has seen in the past. But I won't blame only media for this. This is basically because of mentality of people some people just see a girl as a s** material for them they are not living things.

Hi sjvj, Even I was there for a few years and I have the experience of the NCR region, that's a pathetic place to live, the least I can say. Most of the people there are living like animals, they don't have the word "Moral values" in their dictionary. They do anything to please themselves and thanks for the media for dishing those monsters the plate of S**..with that kind of mentality if you are provoked to have an urge for S** then only god can save the girls in that region. God only knows if there will be any day when our education system will have a proper moral values class for the children so that they don't grow like animals.

Root cause of these issues is that majority of people in India don't have any idea how democracy works and hence they misuse it.In a democracy you have to respect opinions of others and should not try to impose anything on anyone forcefully. Also there are certain duties towards society like your actions and reactions should not effect the society as a whole.Harsh truth is that people are self centered and too adamant,if they think something is wrong that means its universally wrong. For example if a girl is wearing short clothes there are people who would think that she she is characterless and they can do whatever they want with her.Another example is that if someone is rich and you don't have any money feeling would be that if a take few bucks what difference it will make. You are right about media too, actually media is run by different corporates who just care for profit and loss,so breaking news or thrill means high trps and more profit. There are people who record beating or murder videos and sell it to media houses for handsome amount.I am sure you remember a girl getting molested by some guys in Assam and that whole program was arranged by a reporter of some local media channel who wanted to come into limelight. Its time for us to introspect that we are really worth of democracy or not, best wishes.

Hi Gaurav, While reading the first four-five lines of your comments, I had that Assam incident in my mind and then I see that you've already mentioned it. The problem is, most of the people in India don't understand the meaning and value of life at all. The type of education that we have in our schools and colleges is pathetic. Education system is not structured, if you can mug up everything you are a brilliant student and you can easily get more than 80% marks, if you are only logical, god bless you, don't expect anything in this country as a student. Lack of understanding of values in our society is causing all these issues, it can be cured by injecting good moral values in our education system but for that too happen people in Education industry should have good moral values and for that to happen they should learn these values from their schools in childhood. You see, this is a deadlock situation here. God Bless India !!!

hi dollar I am in the US and we also have our share of media exploitation and yes medias can be held to account for a lot of things I imagine in India but reading Vandys response I am thinking how all peoples would all be so much better off with better education so that village people would begin to think like the city people do with the proper educatio.

Hi Hatley, It's not that easy, you should read my response as well. As an intelligent life form, we should do things on purpose and when I say purpose, that doesn't mean, for the short term benefit of an individual. In any country, if you see, most of the families will be very strict for cleanliness in their home. However, in US the same attitude of people you can see on roads and public places as well. In India it's completely different. That shows the vision and the understanding of people. If you go by numbers, we have very very high number of Engineers and Doctors as compared to US available every year out of college, however, our society is still not to that standard as of yours. So how do you define this word "education"? Just by getting a few numbers on a piece of paper is not called education. I'm sure you would have heard of the story, where the guy goes to Hell and Heaven and finds the difference is only the way people help each other in managing the available resources. That's the only difference between US and India and unfortunately, more than 1 billion population is failing to understand this simplest thing.

That is not true everyone in Indian society belong to the same group, there are many who are not scums and dirt-bags among all Indian. To be fair, all these violence happened not because of the fault of just an irresponsible media outlet, it is a combination of various factors that contribute to the present decaying social fabric and dehumanizing moral value inside your country. There are always many blames to go around when there are many violence happening in recent time, factors like eroding family value, devaluation of human life and dignity in urbanization process, a fail education system, trampling of accepted universal human rights by authority, the preference of materialistic over spiritual responsibility in individual, a laughable criminal justice system; the traditional indifference on violent against women in general among the population and government institutions, rising population of pop culture that are in-sensitized by violence; growing poverty and also media influence had largely contributed to this worrisome trend. No doubt by changing the mind set of the common people is one positive beginning step you can take to counter your worries.

The main reason for the growing rise of crime is destroying people's individuality when we are children. The child is always harassed and abused. They are not allowed to be who they are. If children are silent, parents harass them saying that they should talk, theu should be social and mix with others. If they are too talkative, they say we should be silent. Almost all of us carry wounds and scars and also violent instincts. But only some become terrible violent criminals. The anger of the criminal is actually everybody's anger infused in him. He is only the outlet through which the anger of the mnay is being expressed.
