tiring but breath taking experience...

Philippines

I was lucky enough to go to one of the rice terraces north of the Philippines this holy week. And the name of the village was Batad village. The trek took us more than 1 hour before reaching the village from one of the mountain tops of the Cordilleras. It was all down hill to go there and uphill going back. It was exhausting but the view of the ampitheater like rice terraces etched at one side of the whole mountain and a village at the center. I could stay there for a week just to absorb all the beauty of the place. I have here one of the pictures I took as I was walking through the rice terraces. How bout you? How was your weekend?

Terraces - It is unique of the Philippines to have terraces. I wish I could have a chance to visit this beautiful country.
It must be interesting to climb a terrace, especially when you are at the top of it, though it is tiring and breath-taking. Terraces look beautiful to me. It seems that it is one of the typical scences in your country and it is really unique.

Yeah it surely is breathtaking! It literally takes your breath away while climbing the terraces. hahaha... The terraces are only found at the mountainous region of the Philippines in Northern Luzon. Though the terraces are quite common in Southeast Asia, I think you can find the biggest and most number of terraces here....
